  1. reading your comments to me it seems that QUALITY is not very high ranked among cachers. as long as there are MANY TINS out there: "who cares"... obviously this as a common attitude in our world: MORE, ALWAYS MORE. greed is a very nasty feature. yet: just my two pence...
  2. hi dears, since the number of caches is constantly increasing and the quality has been falling steadily for years or co's often neglect maintenance and/or do not respond to logs and mails, it seems to me that the only way to increase the quality is that each listing MUST be evaluated in the course of the log - analogous to adv labs (5 star system). my proposal: if listing has an average rating of less than 3 within a year the listing should be archived automatically. imho the current system of favourite points is not sufficient as they are not unlimited available and do not allow fine tuning (between 1 and 5). who is in favour of this idea? thanks for your comments 🙂

  4. I wonder, what the "search"-button is made for, when each time I click on it, I get the answer, that the listing can't be found. Instead I have to wait a few seconds, until below the typed-in-gc-code the correct one pops up and then click on this one. weird indeed. ps: niraD - I am glad, I don't share your type of humour. sad, that you ignore a polite "please"...
  5. dear keystone, did you try this on your mobile phone as well? it always shows me there, that the GC-number can't be found - without offering 2 options. @niraD: I said PLEASE...
  6. I added details now. please give me your feedback. and please, niraD, delete your video, ok?
  7. the new one is just unbearable. anyone out there who has the same opinion? edit - details: no matter which GC-number I search for: I ALWAYS get the notice, that it can't be found - though it's listed on the left side. does anybody have the same problem or just me? and I don't don't want to click on "open listing" (on the top - righthand side) - I want the listing to open immediately when I search for a specific cache-number. I enclose screenshots to make it clearer.
  8. imho, folks ... if THOSE are interesting waymarks, I am not too optimistic about the future of this whole new Waymarking-idea. don't you think, that shops and restaurants should be tabu here - avoiding that Waymarking is used for advertising/merchandising purpose? what's your opinion? thank you for sharing it with me.
  9. any chance I get an official answer from Groundspeak itself? THEY SHOULD KNOW A SOLUTION FOR SURE? well, I contacted them - yet, up to now I didn't receive their answer. many thanks to all who tried to help! :)
  10. I totally opt for the returnal of virtuals. first: most that I visited at least brought me to a very interesting place. second: I've seen so many caches, that offered disgusting containers, that I really didn't want to touch third: I'd rather want traditionals to be forbidden (according to my experience - as more and more newbies find it so easy with their smartphones to use GC, they find three caches and off they go "hej, I want to hide one too" - never reading the guidelines, thus never giving it a thought whether this is a spot, anybody would be interested being led to - and then they lose interest and never maintain it, leaving a disgusting, moulding piece of plastic out in the environment). honestly: where's the challenge to find traditionals? 99 % are so easy to find, that it's not fun at all. and 90 % are definitely NOT NICE, neither the container nor the hiding place. that's why I practically gave up looking for traditionals and I hate the idea, how many nice, challenging fun-mysteries can't find a place to be put, as the area is plastered with traditionals. wasn't geocaching once a game for intellegent people, looking for a challenge? look, what happened with this game. millions of brainless geocachers (sorry!) who have never heard the term "stealth" spoil the game (isn't acting like a spy a big part of gc? did I misinterpret something here?) and because of their unprofessional behaviour - looking for caches too obvious - so many caches are muggled and so many trackables are stolen. how can anybody be so thoughtless to put trackables in traditionals now? well, to make a long story short: virtuals mean no muggling, no damage on environment and still finding an interesting place with an interesting story. by the way: there used to be a page on the gc-site where I could propose ideas and then it depended on how many liked the idea, whether it was accepted. can't find that page any more. can anybody help, please?
  11. thanks for your answers. @ pup patrol: I can use the "correct the coords in the listing" for the future, alright - but what about all the MANY, MANY, I have solved in the past - all over europe and the rest of the world? would mean a lot of work to retype all those before I send my iphone off. so: sorry, that isn't the solution I am looking for @ niraD: you might not be aware that as a non-premium-member I can't use the pocket queries. and the rest of your solutions also want me to retype my waypoints in the gc-app is there anything that spares me to retype all my already-put-in-waypoints? PLEASE?
  12. whenever I solve a mystery cache (and I do lots of them) I save the final coords as an additional waypoint in my gc-app. PLUS I save them in a personal note in the gc-app too. PLUS I save them in a mail I send to myself. PLUS I save them in "my maps" in a google-map I've designed just for this purpose. so you might imagine I'm not a risk-lover - which in fact I am. just hate to do lots of work for NOTHING. I go geocaching exclusively with my iphone5 and stationary I work on a macbookpro. I am NOT a premium member. now years ago my iphone broke down and had to be exchanged. I had a backup - but when I re-installed everything on my new iphone, all the additional waypoints were gone in my gc-app (obviously they were not saved online in my gc-account). whereas all my personal notes were still existing. yet of course only the very first mentioned method (final coords shown as waypoints) is the only practical way to use my solved final coords when going geocaching. all the others don't show me those on my gc-app-map. now my iphone (unlucky me) has to again be exchanged, as it shows a major error - can't be turned off anymore, thus uses up lots of battery. before I send my iphone back to apple, I want to really make sure, that THIS TIME I don't lose all the many solved, but not-found-yet-final coords as waypoints in my gc-app. is it still the case, that those will be lost when I reinstall my gc-app on my exchanged iphone? I honestly would break down and cry - SOOO many hours of work would be lost. anybody out there who can answer my question please? or name me a good alternative solution? THANK YOU SO MUCH, FOLKS!
