    I just posted this a little while ago but i am in the midst of planting a "Coin Drop" cache over here in South New Jersey. I have a muggle free spot picked out in a huge gorgeous park! It will be coin in coin out only. Located within about 10 miles of Philadelphia and a couple miles of the major East Coast & NJ highways like the Turnpike, I-295 (Freeway running North to New York City and South To Delware) and Route 55 (Local Seashore highway). There are not a lot of coins in our area so I am sure they would do some great moving and I just cant afford the price of 10 coins for this on my own. I have 2 right now ready to get dropped in there but i would like to make it an even 10 in there at least to make it a hit! Let me know if anyone is interested, this should get your coins moving all over the East Coast pretty quick and easy.

    Coin Mover Help

    Ok, I have a little somthing i wanted to try around here. I have a location picked out that is muggle free in the woods of a huge and gorgeous local park. Found the perfect container and all for this. I want to make it a "Coin Drop" for moving and trading coins around the area. Reason i wanted to do this is because it seems the closest coins are always 20+ miles away and half the times they are not even in there. The spot is real close to three major highways making it very accessible from virtually anywhere....NJ Turnpike, I-295 and 55 if you are from the are you are real familiar with these. Here's my problem.....I dont have the cash to shell out to buy 10 or so coins and that is how many i wanted to start it with to get it going. I have 2 coins right now ready to go in there just would like to get some more. If you have some coins to spare any help would be appreciated. It will get them moving for sure on the East Coast.

    Name in Forums Different From Geocache Account

    Your probably going straight to http://forums.geocaching.com

     

    Go to http://www.geocaching.com then click on forums, then click on the link at bottom of that page to get into the forums.

     

    From my understanding, its this last step that actually creates the forum account. The forum's dont link back to the geocaching user database but have their own, and TPTB have disabled manually creating the forum accounts. This link is the "programming" that does that step.

     

    You will have the same problem if you change your password.

     

    Yeah, I keep going through Geocache.com first then clicking on their forums link. I wonder if there is a cookie or something doing it to me. I even log out of the forums and go back and try again.

    Ahh....intersting....good point. I will just make some alterations. That was just a small sample of what i was doing. I will do it with different logos, not necessarily the geocache.com ones. I probably will whip up either my own logo or something for my personal ones. I can do just about anything I can think of on there so shouldnt be too hard to come up with something a little different.

    I use an approximately 1.25" flattened on one side piece of glass that are commonly available at craft stores and used in vases. Using a rubber stamp with indelible ink and similar fine line pens, I create my signature item on the bottom (if you use letters, they will have to be put on backwards) and let them dry. Then I cover the bottom with clear shipping tape, using an exacto knife or something similar to cut it to fit after it's on. And there you have it. After the intial investment of pens, rubber stamp and an ink pad, the tape and stones are fairly cheap. Once you figure out your method, it goes pretty quickly too. I can make about 100 in 90 minutes or less.

     

    We had some geobuttons made by Firehawk (A fellow cacher). He can be reached at: firehawk@clearwire.net . The price was great and the Quality even better!

     

    Look for them in caches soon :laughing:

     

    I Make custom million dollar bills which are about 1/4 size of a normal bill, laminated, printed on both sides and has my name underneath the logo. I can do just about anything with them. Very unique! Here's a sample (Click On Pic To Enlarge):

    I have yet to get a coin of my own going. Mainly just havent had the money to get one or at least get the wife to approve! Having a baby on the way doesnt help either. LOL Any good places I can get a coin real cheap other than Ebay? I just got into this about a month or so ago and have been having a great time. Want to get a coin going of my own soon!

    Cache Owners Deleting Logs Of Finders

    I have a question....I just had to start a new acount. Only had 42 finds so far but wanted to change my login name and such so had everything transfered over other than my finds which i had to relog manually which means now i have new logs under my new name but what i signed was with my old name. So might someone delete my logs that i just redid. I used the same dates with the same text but now it's just my new login name.

     

    Some may delete them. You will decrease the chance though if you mention what you are doing in the logs. Say something like "Logging under new account, logbook was signed under xxxxx account".

     

    That makes sense, wish i would have thought of that before! LOL..guess i can always add that on just in case.

    I'm in almost the same spot. I just need to know how to transfer my found caches and such into the new account. How did you do it?[

    I recently switched my username. Everything is moved over except the subscription. I have an email out to them. Lets see if they will do it and how long it will take for them to reply. Sent earlier today.

    I just found out that my wife is pregnant with our first child. I was wanting to do my first hide with some sort of Geocoin that had something to do with children or a 1st child or such so that i could track it and see where it ends up in 9 months. I thought this would be neat. Does anyone have any links to where i could possibly find a coin like this? I did a lot of searching but didnt find anything baby like. Thanks!
