Definitely has my vote for sure!
  3. Congrats! Welcome to the fun! Coins are great but yes there are some bad eggs out there that steal them. It's not as often as you might thing but it does happen unfortunately.
  4. i always bring a couple extra pens. For some reason i tend to leave them behind and it always seems to happen when the next cache doesnt have one. LOL
  5. i use the google advanced search. works perfect! use forums.Groundspeak.com as the domain.
  6. Just added a couple more unactivated coins up there: Civil War Series Geocoin - Fort Sumter #1 Civil War Series Geocoin - Manassas #2
  7. I've only used the geocaching.com app and I don't believe there is a way to enter coordinates manually. You could probably type them into the stock map app but I have not tried doing that. I actually haven't thought about that situation as I have done all traditionals on my 3GS. EDIT: After playing around a little I noticed there is a flag on the left hand side if you go to the navigate to cache screen. Click that and it allows you to enter coordinates for the next stage! Again, that is if you are using the Geocaching.com App
  8. Well we are in the process of moving, have been packing up some stuff and came across my rather large personal collection of coins. I have lost track of these over time but figured since they are just sitting in a tupperware doing nothing I might as well let someone else enjoy them. They are unactivated and on ebay ending this weekend. I will be putting a ton more rare ones up (some activated but not circulated) over the next week or two, including a project A.P.E. coin so keep an eye on there. Here is what I have put up so far (all unactivated): wsGaskins GeoDiesel w/ Swarovski Crystal Anthus Laptop Geocoin LE A.N. w/Red Top Bushwhack Pirate Sword Geocoin LE Polished Gold /Polished Silver Cammo Ammo Can GLOW IN THE DARK! Canada Micro Puck - Shut Out! 9. Welcome to the fun and happy caching! The more you find the better you will get. I remember my first few were tough especially when it came to them being nano's (very very small). You'll start to get a sense of what you are looking for after a while.

    Camo duct tape

Wow can't wait to see the person that decides to do their whole house in this stuff. LOL!
  11. I know you can calibrate the compass by moving it around in figure 8's. Doubt that will help GPS but you never know.
  12. Really depends how many you buy at a time to get a discount. I would recommend emailing someone over at Oakcoins.com. I have had coins made from them in the past and they are excellent. But in reality, mostly all places have them made over seas so if you are only looking for a few dozen or so, you're probably not going to find a cheap price. Most of them do a couple hundred or more to start. The more you have made, the less it is per piece.
  13. I bought a small laminator a while back from Target. I think it only cost me like $20 and small license size sheets in a 100 pack were real cheap too. Check there for sure first.
  14. They do tend to be tough to open at first but they seem to break in after a while. Also, they are hard to break, actually I think the latches are removeable if I recall correctly. Have to check one of the ones back at the shop.
  15. Congrats and welcome to the fun!
  16. Yes thank you very much! I almost didn't believe this thread, had to go check it out real quick! Thanks Groundspeak Lackeys!

    GONE 5

Hmmm have to ask the wife about this one....my B-day is the 4th so she might not go for it. Last time I was away on my b-day she wasn't real happy. LOL
  18. I was playing around a little while back and made this site for the coins I designed at the time. Jayman Designs
  19. If you do not want to get it online, try a hunting shop. Dicks sporting goods or Sports Authority if they have them in your area should have it too. Probably pricier than online but give it a shot.
  20. Congrats! Glad to see you finally got your hands on one of those coins!
  21. I think they consider Commercial caches being more like ones that advertise someones company not necessarily just being at a commercial area. This is the quote from the FAQ on geocaching.com: "Commercial caches will not be published on geocaching.com without prior approval from Groundspeak. A commercial cache is a geocache listing or geocache which is perceived by Groundspeak, Groundspeak's employees, or the Volunteer Geocache Reviewers as having been submitted to geocaching.com with the principal or substantial intent of soliciting customers or generating commercial gain. The geocache is presumed to be commercial if the finder is required to go inside a business, interact with employees, and/or purchase a product or service, or if the cache listing has overtones of advertising, marketing, or promotion. Additionally, links to businesses, commercial advertisers, charities, political or social agendas, or the inclusion of their associated logos are not permitted on cache descriptions without prior permission from Groundspeak."
  22. Wow, this thread grew quick! I'm surprised no one has started a petition thread or anything to have the GE link brought back. I myself used it heavily to plan ahead where i was thinking about going. Made it easier to find alternative routes with lots of caches on the way to where I was going. Oh well.
  23. Cool thanks much! Let me know if you need more help with them and I will try and give you a hand if needed.
