  1. I agree maybe add a little html page so it's an offline page and tell people about the photo's of your adventures. If you decide to make one I am interested in a swap.
  2. They would have to be pretty bored to burn a bunch of CD'S with photographs and embed a virus into jpegs. If they were to do that they would have to embed EXIF viruses you can already store them in normal JPEG comment segments without the need for EXIF. there was a well known exploit of the microsoft "gdiplus.dll" library which made it possible to execute code of any length stored in jpeg comments with all priviledges... in general you can put code into any file. it's all down to the software environment dealing with the file if this code will be ignored or can be flourished. Would take to much time for a geocacher to waste there time on something like that. I say go for it I think it would be a rather cool sig item. A cache in our area requires you to play a game that someone had made for a puzzle cache. You borrow a cd of the game solve the mystery to get the cords and return the disk. Forgot to mention if people in your area don't know you to well though you might want to slap a label on there of your geocaching name and what the cd contains.
  3. They probably had new icons made for the new coins the icon is probably not uploaded yet it shouldn't take too long.
  4. This one works well in the weather.
  5. I was diagnosed with Cancer shortly after starting this hobby - I've had all the time in the world to sit around after surgery and design a coin. Now that I'm better, I'm rearing to go! We did go caching the weekend before last - DNF. Turns out the coordinates were wrong & it has been disabled for now. Caching this weekend!!! Maybe even tonight?! Hope you trust my intentions. My eBay ID is MrsMartini if you have reservations about me. Well welcome then Mandollyn I hope you enjoy geocaching as much as we do. Glad to hear you are recovering well.
  6. At least it has some concept towards geocaching and not just made for something that has nothing to do with it. Nice looking btw.
  7. Maybe you picked the wrong user name. Only a short time left to change that first impression. LOL Welcome Mousefart enjoy your new hobby just don't get into the politics and you will do just fine . If you have any questions you will get plenty of answers here.
  8. alot of times it's not uncommon for a cacher to move caches WHICH I HATE unless they ask me if they can fix one of my caches. But sometimes people will move them so they can place a cache nearby I don't see how that would work since your cords are listed but from what I have heard from a couple people it has happened before.
  9. Half of the people in my area don't stand a chance on getting FTF most of the caches are found within minutes of being published.
  10. I think you should contact Crake he did a wonderful job on the tracking time geocoin it has to be one of the best I have seen.
  11. Would like to pick up a nut or two to match our screws. Let us know if any left. Jim Buckley Mystery Ink
  12. lol you just gave me a great idea for a travel bug.
  13. That sounds fascinting to me. Where on earth would I get UV paint/ink and UV flashlights??? How invisible is that paint/ink during daylight hours? You can buy 20 and 14 LED UV'S for fairly cheap online just do a search also UV paint works good but I also recomend FIMO a cacher here made FIMO glow in the dark rocks with a touch of grey in it.
  14. I almost fell out of my chair when I read this We discovered geocaching the week after hiking that whole area when I went home to Peter's Creek to visit with the family. If only we had known. Who knows how long it will be before I get back up there. We had a good time, but a cache would have been icing on the cake. A pic from the valley to the west: Nice pictures thanks for sharing.
  15. Yeah they don't know when it will open they said it's suposed to have open last year but they are having problems opening it because not enough staff to watch over the back country of the park. As well as they said that the state is saying they have to have the road paved for it to open i dont know why.
  16. Thats because of the ranch that is right next to it someone from the ranch passed us up while we were hiking although they own a huge chunk of property up there and they don't like trespassing. Hmm . . . Too short a time since I had surgery, but one more week and well . . . . . maybe. It is real tempting. Can't get permission from them. Only way is either wait till next year to do the 8 mile hike or do the 34 mile round trip.
