  1. Okay, it's been a while (I admit) in reading the posts. Point of information on flying and caching. You have to log so many hours, you will fly anyway, some, only "around the patch", but some away from home base. I have found that "most" airports have a courtesy car that they will "loan" you to go into town and eat a bite. Get a hotel room, go to the bank, etc, etc. So what I'm saying here, if you plan (and most of us do) you can cache in the town you fly into. We have, and it's great!
  2. I take what I read with "a grain of salt". Digesting some, and using sparingly. In reference to using a GPS on an airplane. I asked that on my way to Vegas last year, and was met with a "stern" no by the stewardess. My husband who is a pilot indicated that it is only a recieving instrument, and not transmitting (like a cell phone). The reason I'd like to use it is looking down at the terrain I'd like to know where I am. (smile) 30,000 feet up! I'm going to try it on my way to Florida next month! Do the confinscate GPS's if you accidently or purpose use them? mmmm...something to ponder.
  3. Yep, and I was wondering when we were going to place caches at airports, airstrips, and any variation. We have an Ultralight that we dink with, and a Stol aricraft that can go just about anywhere else. Hey, pilots you all have heard of the 100 dollar hamburger, what better way to "walk down" a meal that to Geocache! Cool idea!
  4. I just bought a ifinder go2, it does seem quite complicated, but I think I'm use to the Magellan Gold, or my husband's aviation GPS Magellan 300 (cheepie) , or his super duper I can't take it with me Garman 295 Color Map. I downloaded the Advanced Users Guide (92 pages), still learning. Lowrance will answer all your emails, and if you have any questions or concerns.
