What is your geocaching outfit?
MuckSavage replied to scubajt41's topic in General geocaching topics
When I cache out of my work vehicle, it has the aforementioned yellow light, etc. But with the company name on the door, followed by "Engineers, Planners, & Land Surveyors" Nobody even looks twice. -
A few years ago. Briansnat posted the same pic. I used it to load up my pack. (Thanks Bud!) First I used a cheapy pack, everything piled into a "lump". Now everything rides in an LL BEAN Bigelow tall pack.

Curious situation. Drive by, or just my imagination?
MuckSavage replied to Harry Dolphin's topic in Northeast
Your post is alarming, as I see you list New Jersey as your location. As far as I know (I'm not sure, since we are no longer in the Northeast, but I assume), Pennsylvania is just one state over. So, with that in mind, I ask you what exactly is a "chigger" and do I need to worry about them? Have a look here; http://sjgeocaching.org/SJG/modules/wfsect...hp?articleid=35 and here; http://www.gamecalls.net/howtoavoidchiggers.html -

I was out in WV last month looking at property for a possible relocation. Fort Ashby, WV area. Perhaps I'll catch up with you someday soon. -

As I sit here reading, itching all over from poison ivy, tick & chigger bites, I'm wondering........maybe the fake cachers are on to something! Just kidding. I'm proud to be itching! -
GEOCACHING & DUAL SPORT MOTORCYCLES
MuckSavage replied to Kurdt Green's topic in General geocaching topics
I'd love to.....but I'm in South Jersey, and, I have to sell my street bike before I can buy my new DR650. What do you ride? -
I always wondered that....since I'm in South Jersey & belong to Mid-Atlantic Four Wheel Drive Association. Nice KJ!
-
A true 5/5 cache? How about "Choreographed Chaos" & "Cerebral Codex" here in South Jersey. I haven't done them, but I know teams of people who spent months in the research & field ops to complete the cache(s)

Nice Job! We all owe ya a beer! (just pass on the eggplant, right)

Great Job! Thanks to all!

Thnaks to all, although I didn't post the question, I'm benefitting from it! Way to go!

One of my caches somehow wound up with a porn DVD in it. I was happy to read that a finder said something like "Removed a DVD of adult content & put it in the trash where it belongs" Thanks to him for keeping a family friendly sport family friendly!

Congrats on your personal challenge! And thanks for contributing to the game in SJ as much as you do. We can't find 'em, if no one hides 'em! All things considered, the numbers are just a fun by-product of Geocaching. The great people we meet and the cool places we see is what it's all about. Now on-ward to 300, that's only 2 a week! Thanks for the congratulations Ekitt10......I'm trying to get a jump so I'm not scrambling by years' end! I want to try for 200 this year, but you're right, the few people that I've met have been fantastic people. I look forward to meeting many more!
-
I upheld my personal challenge to reach 200 by the end of 2006. I know, I know.....100 per year stinks, but It's all the time I have! (Darn I envy all of you! ) You're my heroes!!!!!!! Thanks to all

Funny, but no....only string was from the bobber down to the fish!

I was out hiding a cache this afternoon (a paddle to cache in a kayak) On my way back, I pick up floating trash wherever I see it. I actually tow a 5 gallon bucket in an inner tube behind my 'yak (kinda like a "trash trailer". Anyway, after picking up an assortment of soda bottles, beer cans, etc. I come across a bobber in the middle of the lake. I figure I'll pick it up & give it to some kids that were fishing on shore. Well, I pick up the bobber, & there's fishing line attached to it. At the end of the line was a Largemouth Bass! I removed the hook from his mouth, filled his gills & off he swam! To me, it was the coolest thing! Anyone out there care to share a similar story?

Largest Cache Container
MuckSavage replied to peanutbutterbreadandjam's topic in General geocaching topics
How is a car a cache container? If so, check out my cache here: Pontiac Ranch -
I often leave a Wawa convenience store gift card, or a full Subway Sub Club card for FTF'rs. Everyone seems to be appreciative of those.

I think I read somewhere that this is common (Easy GPS not giving all the info over to Palm) Can anyone verify that?
-
I'm trying to go paperless. Downloaded EasyGPS & purchased cachemate. My problem is, I downloaded caches to my palm (tungstenE2) & all I have is the cache name, hider, coords. No stars, description, hints, logs, etc. What gives? Any help would be appreciated (In simple terms, I'm a computer numbskull!!!!!)
