  1. It's happening here in South Jersey also. There was a trackable in a cache I found on Thanksgiving morning. Sine I didn't have a suitable trade item, I left it. C.O. just emailed me asking if I took it & forgot to log....I know think I should've taken it just to keep it safe. Perhaps move it to a premium member's only cache.
  2. Take it from a fellow South Jerseyan......"Old Road to Paradise" in the Keys......Perfect!
  3. I need to make sure Mrs Muck doesn't read this....it would immediately be followed by. "Why don't you do or say things like that anymore?" Back on track.....Well done. Best of luck to ya both!
  4. GC# please? This is one I gotta see!
  5. I've been watching this thread on & off for months. Finally, we'll be geocaching in paradise once again. We depart tomorrow for the beautiful Keys! We'll be at Bluewater Key (Rte 1, MM14.5) as our home base. Hopefully lightning will strike twice as last year we were fortunate enough to grab a FTF at the Cache "Old Road to Paradise". We have the kayaks & the mountain bikes loaded up so we're set! Thanks for having us in Paradise!
  6. Michael, Nah, it was en-route to GCVW41, Bar-B-Q Island. Also, the cat in the hat looks alot like OUR cat in the hat.....SophieCat!
  7. Check your local group. www.sepag.org. As mentioned, be mindful that a 5 star terrain often means the use of specialized equipment (boat, climbing gear, etc.)
  8. The DeLorme PN-60 comes with DeLorme's Topo 9. After loading these maps, & loading your geocaches/pocket query's, select a geocache you want to find, it'll then prompt "navigate by hike or drive" hike routes you as the crow flies, drive navigates you turn-by-turn. Drive feature even works on the sand state forest roads here in South Jersey's Wharton State Forest. I'm impressed with it.
  9. Take it to the local liquor store. The empty is worth $15. (deposit)
  10. Kleetus....Way cool pic! Skeezicks....Old Town Dirigo, perhaps? Looks just like the bow tip of my boat! CPM2440....don't worry about something like that. Go to a real paddler's shop, one that has demos. Discuss with the outfitter your concerns & they'll help you out. Somebody like this; http://belhavenpaddlesports.com In the meantime, read up over at www.paddling.net. There, you can read boat reviews, trip reports for your area, gear, etc.! Cache on Paddle People!
  11. Search Caches placed by "CCHistorics" a pair of Girl Scouts placed a bunch of caches & did a great job documenting the history of each one. All of the caches may not be at a historic site, but every cache description tells the history of it's location, even if it's as vague as a Municipality.
  12. Sadly, the job will probably wind up going to a freeholder's nephew. It seems to be the Jersey Way.
  13. God bless his spirit & his family & friends. Seeing his screen name, we'da been buddies. Geocacher & Car guy. Rest in peace friend
  14. There was a bit of a quick discussion about this on NJ 101.5 this afternoon.
  15. I'm often driving my work truck, which prominatly says "Engineers, Planners, Land Surveyors" on the door. Turn on the strobe lights, grab my hard hat & vest & I'm good to go!
  16. Congratulations to; CCCachers (& Kia) 1400 KayakingJanet 1400

  18. I too am a Land Surveyor. I use them a few times per week, so yes, they are important for mine & the reasons stated above.
  19. I was once spotted, followed, & approached by another cacher in Memphis. He first saw my Signal the frog antenna topper, then the Geocaching license plate frame. We chatted a bit & gave me some coords to some nearby caches. Alot of the folks involved with S.J. Geocaching should be an easy spot since there's now decals with the SJG logo & their Geo-Name.
  20. In Monmouth County, I'd say you're in North Jersey. Lots of shore-side caches there. If you wanted to hop on the Garden State Parkway & head south, you'll be in beautiful & Wharton & Bass River State Forests. If that's how you'd want to go, check out sjgeocaching.org
  21. Nicely Done! Can you tell me more about this pheasant?
  22. Wharton State Forest, South Jersey. Camden, Burlington, Atlantic Counties
  23. Come on down to South Jersey. Many quality caches to be had on the Atsion, Batsto, & Oswego rivers in the pines. Plus, many of the lakes offer caches to Padders. Also, Trowel32 was kind enough to make a Bookmark List of NJ Paddle Caches; http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.a...ae-70d8eb11c37d Happy Paddling!
