ok took a while to take care of it but system restore didnt go back far enough. deleted everything garmin/mapsource/gps/topo from the computer. one problem solved then the cd drive stoped working. triaed again on thursday and everything is now fixed. thanks for the advice and help. HOOT!!

see, im from the "punky" age group since im 17. I do believe it is up to whoever is looking or the degree of their desperation to find it. Geocaching is not meant to be an exclusive game only for those who already know right? after that it becomes like a group of elites in a clique. i believe it is just fine to get assistance but not on a cache-regular basis. you do have to watch who you ask though.

windows vista-- a week to three weeks ago

I had mapsource loaded onto my computer but can no longer get it to come up. Every time i try to open it an error window pops up and says "error with mapsource installation please reinstall and try again". I did so multiple times with completely deleting all data but all to no avail. PLEASE HELP!!

i do the same with my gpsmap 60csx and it works great--- im not worried about my ipod + i look at it and remember the hint

i noticed this too and i think the flashing is just the gpsr trying to lock on the satellite. NOTHING that inhibits the performance. I also think it fluctuates because the "main" signal is hopping between satellites. Again this is just what i think!

ive had it both ways. once the iphone got me within 3 feet and another time it tried to put me in a creek 30' off!! in my opinion, using iphones should be discouraged because they are not reliable. if someone wants to hide a cache, they need to use a real gps, if they are searching, not finding it is their problem.

i went with the gpsmap though the other came with 3 cases but now im happy and thanks for your opinion and $0.02. lol

i have the oppourtunity to choose one of these. which one should I choose???
