The numbers continue. The Navigatorz just passed 3000 and Max-x who is now heading home from a month in Havasu just got 1800.

I see the hundreds are piling up fast and furious. Congraulations to P-38 on reaching 1400. I know. I was just pokin' ya. I think it's great that we all have different characters, it's what makes life interesting and unique!

Changing the present program is full of hazzards. New cachers with a goal to attain will all of a sudden feel that perhaps the goal posts have been moved. Except for some notable geologists in the program for the rest of us attaining Platinum has taken considerable time and effort. Don't pull the rug out from under them. It would seem that getting all Platinum awardees involved with a questionaire may be an appropriate approach.

K-Ddid here. Saturday or Sunday any weekend is good for me. None of those dates fall on my birthday which isn't a biggy anyway.

There are no plans at this time. The hike to the caches above Lake Lenore Caves would be a good HOTM season opener. Caches to find on the hike would be: Lenore Caves Cache The Land That Time Forgot The a-maze-ing Petroglyph LK Lost N Time And you're right, March is the best time to go there to avoid the critters. If I remember right, the total distance is just over 3 miles. Not a long hike, but a very interesting one through an ancient coulee. I've found those caches but would love to go again to check on my hides. Any one else interested in making this our first HOTM for 2009? Anyone want to suggest a date? Hey, I think it is a great idea.

The nearby businesses are Wedge Mountain Inn (Motel) and Big Y Cafe both near the intersection of Hiway 2 and Hiway 97. We would have to get permission to park vehicles in their parking lots. So far it appears there are two individuals (Hydnsek and AndrewRJ) coming over from the west side Saturday morning in one vehicle (LandRover states that he will already be in Wenatchee and will meet the carpoolers there). Are Hydnsek and AndrewRJ able to meet us at the trailhead? You would need a high clearance vehicle. If so, here is a suggestion that might work: East meets West at the Wedge Mountain trailhead? Those coming from the Wenatchee-Cashmere side meet at the Easy Street Park-n-Ride in Wenatchee. We can then carpool to the Wedge Mountain trailhead via Hiway 97 and Mountain Home Road. Those driving from the west side could drive up Mountain Home Road from the Leavenworth end. There are caches along the way they may want to find after the hike such as 21 Candles and Charred Log, both on the Mountain Home Road, and also Boundary Butte and Boundary Butte The Top, both just a short drive off the Mountain Home road. If the west siders are not bringing a high clearance rig and need rides, then we'll have to meet them at the Park-n-Ride in Leavenworth (a few miles further to drive for the eastsiders), or I can call the Big Y cafe and ask if we can park vehicles there for a few hours on Saturday. So westsiders, is meeting at the trailhead a possibility? Or do you need to ride up with someone with higher clearance vehicle? K-DDID HERE. I THINK I CAN CLEAR MY WAY FOR THIS ONE. YES, I HOPE WE CAN PUT SOMETHING TOGETHER. We all have our own agenda. I didn't get any caches on the April cache. Therefore I am looking at Potholes Coulee-East End,GC1AFRR; Dusty Lake High Point GC1A0C9; Dusty Lake View, GC1A0BZ and Dusty Trails, GC12J19 because I have all the rest. There is also a Terracache I would welcome if it proved convenient.
