  1. I think it would be nice if some of the folks that work directly with geocaching, such as publishers and site owners, would stop and think that we are all simply trying to have fun. Some seem to think the geocaching world belongs to them and if you don't do it just the way they think it should be done then they give you a hard time. None us are making any money doing this, that I know of, and we are all trying to have fun, get some exercise and see some interesting places. Some are smarter than others and some are not a as smart as they may think they are.

    Let's just have fun.

  2. The geocaching survey form was a good idea but I'm not sure that the site works correctly. When

I finished filling out the survey it never offer a "send" command to send it back to Geocaching. It simply went back to the beginning entries and they reflected they were already filled out.

I'm not sure if you got it or not.???????????????????????????????

  3. That is normal behavior. When a new cache is created, the default maps are the rather crappy Tiger maps. After the cache is published, at some point the map will switch over to the prettiful map. This is done automatically when the map server crawls through the cache database looking for pages to update. Perhaps this was broken for awhile, and just recently got jump started.

Thanks that make me feel better. At least I'm not losing all my marbles.

  4. What new maps would you be talking about? The geocaching.com maps look the same as they did over a year ago.

I'm not real fast with this stuff but it is the maps that are on the lower right side of the cache page

The new maps will show a location of the cache but it will, in most cases, only show roads and etc but nothing to identify the general area it is located in, such as a town name and etc.

Strange things seem to be happening. The maps that are showing up now are the correct maps. Maybe I'm smoking left handed cigarettes.......For the past weeks the maps have not been the usual maps that you see on the cache pages. I can't explain it.

  6. Leprechauns:

Thanks for your reply. I'm still not sure what is going on with this thing but I'll keep after it and see if it can be solved. I really appreciate your effort. I apologize for all the confusion, but the listing kept getting moved around and someone fussing about the spelling in some poor guys listing and etc. and etc.

I hope we will all remember that Geocaching was once fun.

  7. Everyone that has TB seems to have this problem. We have three that are in the hands of active members yet they will not put the bugs back down. One even acknowledges that he has it, needs to put it down but does nothing. I guess you just have to move one and consider that some folks just don't get it.
