  1. Although I have had the app on my phone for quite a while, I have never done an adventure. I am shortly going to visit an area that has an adventure so I thought I would attempt it but the app says I have already done it (I haven't) Is there a way to delete this so I can actually attempt it? Thanks.
  2. I am getting a 500 - Server Error message :-(
  3. Well I am sorry to hear that but thank you for all the work you put in.
  4. Is WF.Player still being developed? Thanks.
  5. Amazing response, thanks so much. I am having a ball with this, heaps of fun. I thought an audible alert could be a good idea so that the operator could keep their eye on the road so to speak rather than watching the screen to see if they were in the zone yet, a safety thing. Of course I have no idea of the programming effort involved, must be huge and I would not want to see your Christmas disrupted :-) Fantastic job and much appreciated.
  6. No bets, you seem to respond way too quickly for that :-) Its just that I have been playing with the kit and producing some trash stuff, just wanted to remove it before it embarrasses me ! Two questions id I may................. Under Actions, I have Create new Message, Question or Emulator Actions. I have no idea what Emulator Actions is supposed to do. Is there a way to trigger a sound alert when the user enters a new Zone? Many thanks, Pat
  7. How do you delete cartridges from the web creation page?
  8. My NFC cache has been approved, published and found without the aid of an NFC device by a very determined seeker :-) GC426FJ Hope this helps others to get their's approved as well.
  9. I think it would be a long journey for you to find it
  10. I have just been advised that GC have approved this type of cache, waiting for mine to move up the waiting list :-)
  11. I have sent a request off to appeals@geocaching.com on the advice of my local reviewer as he has heard nothing back. Will be interesting to see what happens now.
  12. I dont understand why there is a delay in approving this type of cache. I know the technology is a wee bit new but the underlying concept is no different to the use of a compass or a gps or a cellphone. Were barcodes put on a "trial" before they were allowed to be used? And what is the purpose of a trial anyway, what is that going to prove?
  13. Same result here, just have to be patient I guess but hope they approve soon.
  14. But remember that they can't be locked (by most phones anyway) as don't stick them 'in the wild' or someone could decided to recode it! Don't know where you get your information but here is the listing and is says "Lockable" If the phone won't lock them that is a problem with the phone not the tag. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006TGTEV0/ref=oh_details_o03_s00_i00a They don't work with Nexus 7 and 10 but everything else. These are the ones I ordered! Should be here tomorrow. For geocaching you may want to consider something like these ones...... they are waterproof and anti-metal which means they can be stuck to metal surfaces. Ordinary tags cannot be placed on metal, they will not work.
  15. I heard that the Mifare Classic 1k didnt work with the Nexus4/7/10 as they were a different type of chip? but that the latest android update 4.2.1 made them compatible. Dont have any myself to try but would be interesting to find out.
  16. The tag gets written in the format "geo:-35.xxxx 174.yyyy" and I think this is an android thing not an app-specific thing because after writing the geo tag I deleted the TagWriter app and the tag was still read OK with the option of starting Earth, Maps or Radar. I have GPS Status installed so when I select the Radar option GPS Status pops up and displays the coordinates as the target. You then have the option to Show on Map which pulls up your default (Google?) map. I dont know if it would be possible but it would be rather neat to have the coordinates written directly into your geocaching app but maybe thats expecting too much
  17. Coming a bit late to this topic but I have just received a LG Nexus 4 phone and it has NFC so experimenting with a few things. I used Tagwriter from the Playstore here and it has a format to write geo tags. It also has the ability to read the current location from the gps and write that to the tag, very handy. I dont know if its a JB-specific thing, the Nexus is running v4.2.1 but when you scan one of these geo-formatted tags you get the option to start up Google Earth, Maps, or Radar which makes things very easy.
  18. While waiting for the official version, can I suggest (REMOVED] as a worthwhile download? Its in the Market. Moderator note: no, you may not. The application you mentioned violates Groundspeak's Terms of Use Agreement and uses elements of Groundspeak's Trademark Geocaching logo and cache icons without permission. Do not discuss it in the Groundspeak forums. In addition, this section of the forums is set aside for discussions of official Groundspeak mobile applications.
  19. Given the limited availability of caches up here, I think its a good idea to have an "NZ Only" page if anyone can set it in motion.
