  1. Introducing Yrium TNG #18 - fisnjack Card inspired by "lostguy" Card designed by Harmon of SD Rowdies A supply of these cards has been dropped in Max's Favorite Park.
  2. Dropped a TNG #7 - condor man and a TNG #14 - "lostguy" in The Cauldron yesterday.
  3. BTW, Harmon, this is a very cool picture!! I didn't mean to pass it by. We sure enjoyed it, but thought others might think we're a bit better at 'rock crawlin' than we've let on!!! lol
  4. Any one of those would deserve mention, but to do all three on one cache...Most Excellent!!!
  5. It definitely makes a difference, more so the farther away the projection is from the starting point. We've gone after projection caches where the cache owner didn't specify, so we've learned to run both. You'd need to check your GPSr to see what your currently set for, magnetic or true north.
  6. Great work done in creating this card! I noticed that this card had been left in Max's Favorite, when I got home from tonights event...soooo.I made a mad dash back north to grab one for myself,Ironmom and B&B...Great finishing work Sue! Sue did th' cutting and trimming ... tell me about it!
  7. fERNANDO, Welcome to the San Diego Geocaching scene. If it's advice you want then I can fill you in on the rascals to watch out for aroung these parts ... not naming any names as yet. Harmon SD Rowdies Welcome Fernando, First of all, never listen to anything Ol' Harmon has to say!!! Secondly, we're hosting an event tomorrow evening in Tierrasanta. Just a simple meet n greet at the local Round Table Pizza. Attending would be a great way to meet folks and to pick their brains. Hope to see you there! Meet n Greet Event Who knows, maybe Harmon will come, too! Sue The Fat Cats
  8. When you show up at his event you will log in to it and will have 1112 ..... Sure, from a guy with well over 4570 caches who would never get excluded from an event, unless he forgot to bring YODA. I'm not sure we will be able to suffer the humiliation of actually signing in at an event we were excluded from. I didn't get invited either after reading your post I went to Habu's profile and found the page so as you know I will not be there are at the campout so go for me. Actually, I thought about this and realized that you weren't invited because you're the honorees! How many cachers have 1111 finds coming up to 11/11? I think he didn't 'invite' you because it was a surprise party in your honor!!! Now you have to be there, right?
  9. Welcome, pay no attention to the guy named Harmon, he means no harm (usually) I can hang but thanks for the notice =) There's an event this Sunday, if you're free and interested in meeting some of the locals...Meet N Greet Hope to see you there! And welcome to geocaching
  10. Yes, San Diego is a hotbed of Geocaching and there's a horde of Geocachers in our county. Will you stick to north county Geocaching? What's your preference ... urban or hiking trails? Swag in a container is hard to predict because over time swag is taken rather than traded on average. There's a swag-cache in Tierrasanta named "Some Like it Hot," GC23T4C. We keep it stocked with hand-me-downs from a collection of grandchildren as they grow up. It's a short and easy walk on improved trail in a neighborhood open-area with convenient curbside parking. Keep watch for Geocaching events ... come meet local Geocachers so that you'll know which of them have gone over the edge in pursuit of this crazy recreation. Have fun, Harmon SD Rowdies Welcome Hammerfel! San Diego has some of the BEST cachers anywhere, and I'm sure you and your son are in for good times Not quite sure what Harmon is referring to when he says "over the edge" but attending events is a great way to not only pick folks brains about local caches, but to meet people who share a liking for adventure. There's a great camping weekend coming up, mid-Novemeber, out at Ocotillo Wells. If you like to off-road (and even if you don't), this is a must-attend event. 9th Annual GeoOcotillo Campout Hope to see you around soon! Sue The Fat Cats Note to self: Need to check into the This Just In forums...I'm missing Harmon big time!!!
  11. OMG! ... a rare request by way of the Geocaching Forum thread. SD Geocacher Logo The link above will take you to the artwork you need. Note that there's a resizing control ... the link takes you to the largest version of the artwork. Right-click and "SSave Picture as ...." More info, please! We need details!!!
  12. Hey Now! Super-cachers to the rescue! Way to go! If there's anything that truly deserves a "Like" button, this is it. I have to admit, I was wondering about that myself... I knew someone would bring that up... it's just what TripleCrown told me. So now the spotlight of inquiry pans from Duncan! to TripleCrown. The operative phrase here is "... had the opportunity ...." As it is one can only speculate about ways to "... wake up some handsome firefighters." What happens in the firehouse stays in the firehouse, is that it? Note to Self: Gawd! ... now those stupid Like buttons are on the Forum threads. Nowhere to hide .... I was a little surprised at the communal sleeping arrangements at the firehouse. Duncan! rang the bell, the light came on inside and since the blinds were open, we saw all the young firefighters jumping out of their beds in their shorts (no shirts...because they're it's too hot.) Soon they were all suited up and rolling in the rig! The fire at the campground was soon out, but NOT the fire in Duncan's heart! The fire wasn't quite that far north... Awesome work guys! Your fast action put out what could have been a devastating forest fire. Commendations all around! Just for the record, I thought about importing the button here, but after reading the "handsome firemen" comment, I thought better... Note to all: Just kidding!!!
  13. Way to go guys! Well done Dawg Team! Need more details about what part Mocha! and Willow! played in thwarting the campfire. Note to Self: Huh? " ... had the opportunity to wake up some handsome firefighters." Well done, guys!!!
  14. Uh, oh. This serious. But I won't go down without a fight. Let's see if this can turn the tide... Look what happens when you get busy for a few days...miss out on all the voting!!! We have seven, count 'em SEVEN sweet kitter-mutts at home so this one get SEVEN likes: for our crew and... one more for this darling kitten!
  15. James, That's very impressive; however, isn't that sheet a bit untidy? Very cool, James! Note to self: I'm likin' this new Like button on the gc.com forums!
  16. Nice one! O sure, somehow I knew that you would like this one. Sorry that there isn't one of those silly Facebook "Like" buttons for you to click. I tried clicking on the "Like" button but it didn't work... Just my luck ... why does everything always happen to me? Think of how I feel ... "0 people liked this." I still claim that there should be a "Dislike" button. So what's the chances that the SD Rowdies banner photo will become a desktop image for somebody? I suppose I could offer to do a tuneup on Jodi's computer so's I can substitute her desktop image once again. Good gosh, I spent two whole days working on her computer just so I could swap her desktop image. It was worth it. Besides, I kind of like the ol' broad; you know, more or less. You know the photo you took from up on the hill by the dump looking down on the 52 and santee will that is my desktop image so yes it has happened.
  17. Nice one! O sure, somehow I knew that you would like this one. Sorry that there isn't one of those silly Facebook "Like" buttons for you to click.
  18. It probably means you've logged a cache twice... I don't think so. I've not been in this area before...but at the same time I will admit that after a while the caches do begin to blur, and I will admit to getting confused with all the recent Fiesta Island hides. Maybe that's where it is... Thanks for the answer! Welp...I checked my logs for Fiesta Island, and there it was: two logs for the same cache. I deleted one of them, so once again there is equilibrium in The Force. Thanks for all your help! Robert I did the same thing last year on Mission Bay. Found a cache years earlier and re-found/logged it when I was out caching with a group. Took me a bit, but I finally found out which one it was and got it fixed. It's good to have equilibrium...
  19. It probably means you've logged a cache twice...
  20. I just realized we missed The Lost Clan's 9000th find in Scotland! Congratulations, Linda!!!!!
