  1. As no-one has added their opinion then I will. :D

If you want it to travel around the UK then take him up on the offer and ask him to send it back.

Went through the profile and he is an experienced cacher and he would then follow it through I think (hope).

I have sent off a few TBs and coins and I want them to stay in the UK as I like seeing places that I could visit and I find it more interesting than places I would need to win the Lotto to go to.

My opinion only but do what you are happy with.

  2. I did that for our event in S Wales just over a week ago.

I submitted the information the night before and stated on the page that it would not be in place until AFTER we got there and that seemed to be fine and didn't give any problems - at least none that I heard about. :o

I have since edited the page and deleted that info.

  3. I'm female and I do the difficult challenge of deciding which caches we are going to do, printing out the log pages and typing up our visits.

Tony (hubby) does the easier parts of downloading the info, driving, usually finding the cache(grrrr) and getting me over styles and UPhills when needed and then driving home again

  4. Just checked and I had added active cachers in my lesson plans!!!! Great minds!!!! <_<

Last year there were at least 2 in my class who were extremely interested and I even managed to show those 2 a micro when we were on a field trip or rather they showed me as they had found it on Google Earth. I was able to show them that I had signed it as a FTF.

I think in a few years when they are old enought to take themselves off it will be a hobby they have already been introduced to!! Then they can set caches fo me to find - I hope

  5. I wish :laughing::lol::lol:

    Changed to

I've found the information that there are 381, 813 caches worldwide

I'm having enough trouble trying to write up this hobby / addiction that we have ready for an inspection in school and one of the subjects they are looking at is the Geog. Last year I put in a 4 week block of work tracking our school TBs and setting up 4 micros around the school and the kids enjoyed it so much that I am repeating it. BUT I now have to write the blurb as it is my hobby and it is easier when you understand it a bit more - me and my big mouth - why didn't I just stay with the geog I was given!!!!!!(Well I did as that comes after half term) :anitongue:

  6. Where can I find the latest info on how many cachers in how many countries please?

I've found 381,813 active caches worldwide but can't find the other stats.

Currently adding geocaching into the Geography syllabus to use with my Year 6 (10/11 yr olds).

    Any idea please?? :anitongue:

    Thanks

    Lilian

  7. Thanks for the replies - time to show technical support (hubbie) your suggestions and let him get on with it. :)

No settings , etc on there as I just use mine when we get out of the car as his Mio gets us there. I just got fed up of following everywhere so threw my teddy out of the pram and got my own.

So fingers crossed if not Ebay here I come!!!!!

  8. Mandy - you and I are on the same wavelength!!!!!

I've been out today and bought camo material to make some into 'goody bags' as prizes for the S Wales event meet in a few weeks time for a childrens' event .

Thought the camo bags with sweets, a gecko each(Dave's providing those) and other bits and pieces would perhaps appeal more than a plastic bag!!!!

Did wonder about making a few more and seeing how they go - like the idea of a donation possibly mountain resue as you never know when we may need it with this hobby of ours. It's either that or Dog's Trust. Or share it if I make a fortune!!!!!! :D
