  1. I just got an eTrex Legend a few days ago and it's pretty distressing to find out that the only topographical maps I can put on the thing are horribly low in resolution and contour lines.... Is there NOTHING else with more detail out there that will work on the garmins? Short of resorting to what Parsa suggested, trying to do it yourself? I'm used to UTM 1:24,000 scale military maps, and I guess I've taken it for granted. I've seen some nice topo maps out there... I just apparently can't load them into my eTrex That really bites.... I wonder if magellan has these problems. Minus one for Garmin...
  2. I think multicaches are exciting! Makes it more like a treasure hunt instead of "here it is, stop by some time!" I'd like to do a statewide or nationwide one (although citywide would be more realistic) with not just coordinates at each waypoint, but clues that you'll need later. Then maybe solve a riddle or puzzle to get to the cache... I don't have very much exprience placing caches, but I think going on an adventure and being entertained is more of a concern than how many people will attempt it. I don't expect the log to be full, and I don't judge the success of the cache by the number of people logged in but by the responses of the people who do I dunno just my thoughts on the matter
  3. I've got a eTrex Legend, and usually enter coordinates in the hddd°mm.mmm format. However, I have a set of coordinates in a different format and I'm not sure what format this is nor how to enter them (if I need a converter or what) It's format is like this 123456N and 1234567W Sorry if the answer is obvious, I'm just not sure what this format is called and I'm still learning about navigation as a whole... I imagine it's been discussed before but I'm not quite sure what to search for.
