I made the exchange for a new one. So far the new one works like clockwork! Time will tell!

I was getting the same problem, and then it stalls in the boot up. After resetting, pulling batteries, trying the menu+up+power button to boot to setup screen it will not stop stalling in boot. It's going back to Best Buy, and I am getting another one. If this new one does not work, then I will call it a lemon. I will try to use the Vantagepoint to load the caches this time.

I just got the eXplorist GC for Christmas. It came with the 1.6 firmware as well. It started working great at the begaining, then as I added pocket queries It started to get GPS signal degradation, speed, and lock ups. As of today, it will not boot up to the main menu. I even tried the boot to the white screen with no success. I just downloaded vantage point, but have no experience with it as of yet. It looks to be a good GPS, but I have found that these issues seldom go away. I plan to return it and give it another shot with another one before I call it a lemon.

New one here. Geocaching for a bout a month and a half now with the family. Got 42 so far. Have a older Go2 and my newer Droid! Love the site and have lurked a few times on the forum. Learning the dos and don't slowly. Cool forum!

Because it is a screen scrapper and that violates the TOU. So it copies the info that would be generated by the Groundspeak website, and then uses that to produce it's own GUI. That would most likely violate the Terms of use like you said. TOU They must not register with Grounspeak. Got it. Thanks! What's the time-line for the Groundspeak app for droid or similar? Is this a no no application? I have been using it for over a month with great results? You can expect it to break on every site up date. Perhaps some day the author will get the message and stop fixing an illegal app. Thanks for the post and info! Is there another app that is like this one? I have not had to download loc files and I prefer not to have too or make it automatic or semi-automatic. I don't mind paying for a good app. I understand the costs and support a application has. Why is this one c one illegal?

After geocaching.com did there thing today (reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak) stoped being able to access cache information. I get the following error with looking for caches. "application (reference to unauthorized application removed by Groundspeak) has stopped unexpectedly" My only option is to force it closed. Anyone have a solution or a fix idea? Thanks in advance! tooljedi
