  1. So, where's the NNJC Thong?
  2. and 551, 848, 856 & 862? Even I didn't realize how many area codes are now in our otherwise densely populated state
  3. I've had one for a while, and really helps zero in on the GZ when there's dense foliage or a low signal area. I've actually made a metal plate and welded a 1/4" nut on one side so I can mount it on my walking stick in times that I want to raise it up to get better reception. Most times, I use the same plate under my hat and mount the antenna on my head. Now granted I kind of look a little strange , but most times there are very few people around to see this rather odd sight (except for the wife) and it works wonderfully.
  4. Congratulations. Even though "Unfinished Business" is Hart's cache, it is located .5 miles from our house, so we have a great fondness for this cache. That was an excellent choice for #200!
  5. I would look at the Garmin Autonavigation Kit which includes City Select NA. You get a bunch of accessories that work very nicely for using in the car It Includes: 12v power Dashboard Mount Mounting Bracket City Select NA 6.0 Beanbag Dash Mount Pricegrabber Lowest price for the kit seems to be about $139, but might find it lower by searching Google for the part #: 010-10458-00 Page Computer has it for $130 + Shipping
  6. I like the way that sounds, just like "Wyle E. Coyote, Super Genius"
  7. Fixed the link sorry. CBS News Geocaching Clip
  8. Pick your poison: One entry found for festival. Entry Word: festival Function: noun Text: a time or program of special events and entertainment in honor of something <tourists flock to the town for its annual strawberry festival> Synonyms carnival, celebration, festivity, fete (or fête), fiesta, gala, jubilee Related Words jamboree, jollification, merrymaking, revel, revelry; exhibit, exhibition, exposition, fair, show; exercises, honors I like Jollification, but can't think of a way to make it flow.. North East Camping/Caching Jollification?
  9. I actually taped it and it was about a 2-3 minute segment as they found a cache in NYC. CBS News Clip
  10. If you're only looking for someone to do the puzzles, you may want to reach out beyond the NE forum to have a bigger gene pool to choose from. (Not that there are any other regions with smarter people than ours.) I would also recommend you carry a paper bag with you. When you swear, do it into the bag. When you're done, send the bag to DB & BNB.
  11. BStrong Screen Protectors These are available for the 60c/cs and work very well.
  12. I usually strip down nakked and check for ticks.
  13. For the next round of the game, it would make it more interesting if there were points awarded for an "unmoved" flag (i.e. 5pts for every day starting 24hrs after logging). That would add a whole new twist on the strategy and tactics. That would make a tough choice between rapidly moving and leaving it alone to tempt the other team to come and get it. If It were a high enough score, it also could eliminate the "convert e-mail hand-off". Remember let's keep it fun.
  14. Just wanted to report a small issue I had when upgrading to 5.6. It would appear that my registration information got blown away during the upgrade. I was able to re-enter without a problem, but wanted to report it.
  15. Found this site: http://www.permethrin-repellent.com/ They have the soak for $6.99/package Also here (Less expensive): Jesse's Hunting and Outdoors
  16. How about? Taylor Ham or Home of the "Mall at Short Hills" or Most densly populated state in the nation or Cache and Trash - Fo-get about it or my personal favorite "I like Jersey Best!"
  17. It was unfortunate that I couldn't attend all of the fun with Buzzard Boy and the gang in the Sourlands Mountain Reservation, but hopefully this date will give most of the people that did time to recover. I know that some people are choreographing trips to Wharton State forest, so this might be a good location to escape the chaos and knock out some other caches in the park. Other ideas and locations are welcome.
  18. I've heard good things about the Garmin GPS Legend. The price should be in the $130 range (Amazon.com) which would leave some $$$ for Topo software.
  19. I would consider the Garmin GPSMAP 60c (or CS). With the $50 rebate available you can get the 60c for about $300 (Buy.com has it for $350 - $50 rebate = $300). I absolutely Love this unit (CS). It's not perfect (an external memory card would have been nice), but besides that it does everything that I could want. I find myself using this in the car using City Select software, on my bike to track speed and milage and the original purpose of Geocaching.
  20. All this fun AND educational too. But seriously, I'm really sorry I missed out on the fun. Best I can do is live vicariously through your stories.
  21. But at least you got pictures
  22. The image that popped into my head while reading the post. ...and sound Call of the wild
  23. I want to be a groupie! , but alas family commitments prevail. Maybe next time. Enjoy the day!
