  1. The CO answered me back. Apparently they signed the 2nd page in the log. Oh well. Next time! armadillogal
  2. [ Absolutely. I would not do anything based simply on the word of the second cacher. If I was inclined to delete the log, I would first check the logsheet personally. The first cacher may have signed the log, then the second cacher could have opened it up and looked at the backside, seen no signature and jumped to conclusions. It could go the other way, too, for that matter. It could be Cacher B got there first but Cacher A missed B's signature, thought he was FTF, and logged online first. This just happened to me last night! I swore the logbook was empty when I signed it. Now it was dark & I was using a flashlight but when I got home there were 3 people who claimed to have been there before me and took the travel bug which I did not find but I did see te bobber they left. There were 2pencils in the box so not having a pen is no excuse. The planter has only done 3 boxes so far....I wonder what he'll do. It's close enough I can go check myself in the daylight....or should I e-mail him?
  3. Along this line I thought I was first to find on one tonight because I did not see anyone elses signature in the logbook. Unless in the dark I signed the wrong page but it was clean and the first one inside the cover. When I got home to log it in there were 3 others who said they got the FTF and the travel bug that was in there. I did see the bobber they said they left....shoot....they had to be there less than 10 minutes before me...why would you clain a FTF and not sign the logbook?
  4. Regarding hide-a-keys... if your SO locks your spare keys IN the car while you are out getting a FTF on a reaLLY HIGH MOUNTAIN YOU'LL WISH YOU HAD ONE. And I have hidden several...not on guardrails either...lots of places are magnetic after all!
  5. I too find it frustrating to find all the TBs gone from a cache when I get there. Why are people taking them all from travel bug hotel/motels without replacing them?????? Maybe GS could put something on the front website page like an announcement....at least with letterboxing if you take one out of a hotel/motel you're supposed to replace it....I just released a new one yesterday and planted one that needs to move....but I am getting leery of them disappearing. armadillogal
  6. I found a small compass in a cache this weekend. it says compasstrack.blogspot.com log my travels Prairie Dog. At that website there is no URL to match that.... any suggestions? armadillogal in NM
  7. o I had just started one in a brand new plant and already the 4th person to find the cache says it not in there. the 1st person saw it but didn't take it. now i am waiting on the 2nd finder to see if they have it or saw it. crossing my fingers...she's a cutie too. and she had a mission card with her. armadillogal
  8. Any caches by BLMBILBO are great and usually have history....he ran a geofest not too long ago & we had a blast. still have a few to get from that...in ruidoso there are a bunch by okieduo too...she was at the geofest. Skyhook is another one. The one called Noisy Water is good by the old mill...in Lincoln there's one behind the Lincoln Courthouse...several by Fort Stanton, and one by the Billy the Kid Visitors Center in Ruidoso Downs. I liked the two that were by Grindstone Lake...and the disc golf one....and if you go by the visitors cenhter in Ruuidoso Sky Hook works right next door...there's one right by his office....one on themain drag by the Import shop. Two days will not be enough...LOL.... Good Luck, armadillogal from Alamogordo if you ever get here I have 13 planted now.
  9. I have pecos diamonds. rocks, motorcycle charms. pins, magnets, small toys and other small goodies that I find. Recently we found magic towels that were new and came from Vegas priced at 50 cents each and were originally 4.99! My first finder things I try to have something nice too.
  10. Today we were out looking for a letterbox & stumbled on a geocache. I couldn't read the ID number if there was one...the original log was full so someone had stuck another paper in a ziploc. It was a piece of a tree limb split and hollowed out and the camo's pouch was velcroed to the bottom. It had log ins dated back to 2008 so it has been there awhile but it's not listed on here that I can see. I have found some of the same kinds as seen above....the metal plate and the vinyl numbers were favorites. The gnome with the green bullet and the frog with the hollowed out bottom were cool too. One of my very first ones was the Lost Dog sign. It was velcroed to the telephone pole. The magnetic key holders are popular here....and the very best one was a sign that had a door on the end of a square pipe....it was inside there.... happy trails, armadillogal
  11. My first hide is a micro because I am just learning and wanted to draw attention to the place I put it. I like the bigger containers with room for a logbook and a little swag. Had a nice hike today & found 4 plus found one in town and met 2 fellow cachers trying to find one near my house. That was a blast. Got another convert too. I'm in it for the hunt and creativity and to get outside for exercise . Learning so much as I go....
