Irgendwie ein blöde Geschichte. Klar mag der Owner das Recht haben den Log zu löschen. Die Art und Weiße ist aber sicherlich fragwürdig. Allerdings weiß man als Finder auch nichts von etwaigen Vorfällen, durch die der Owner schon vorgespannt ist. Wenn der Owner nun zum achten mal in der Woche los muss um einen irreführenden Logzettel aus dem Cache zu popeln kann das schon mal für schlechte Laune sorgen. Ich würde mir den Vorfall an deiner Stelle nicht so sehr zu Herzen nehmen. Es gibt sehr viel mehr nette Leute und tolle Erfahrungen beim Cachen als solche, mir ist sowas nach über 3000 Funden noch nicht unter passiert. Sie doch einfach der souveräner, geh nochhmal hin, logge im Logbuch und bedank dich net für den Cache und den Hinweis das man im Logbuch loggen sollte

I´ve been to Cuba and had a great time geocaching. Since they will confiscate GPS devices when found, I just choose to leave it at home and cache with my Smart Phone only. C:GEO App, offline map, all caches downloaded an I was perfectly good to go. This way you can cache even without mobil data, just put the Phone in flightmode and switch on GPS. Done!

No, it´s not. I have one lockpicking geocache listed by my self and I have found several others. None of them was ever opened by brute force. It have to be obvious whats to do, it has to be clearly described, and it has to be hard to destroy it. Some cachers might overpace when they don´t get to log real quick. But are there realy cahers out there in your bad bad world, taking the decission to destroy a cache by full intention, using tools or stuff??? I don´t think so. And if so, one of a thousand or so came along. And replacing a cacher after a thousand or so founds wount hurt

Mystery, if only for your own sanity. Traditional with field puzzle will just invite abuse from people who don't read cache pages. I´d list it as a Traditional, since there is nothing to solve in advance to the search and the cache is located at the given coordiantes. It´s just harder to get to logbook. A D5 rating would be appropriate. And a D5 rating makes people reading the cache discription

Sure, try to drill it open. That will mess up the mechanism propperly. Or just weld it

Why is everyone call a lockpickin toolset a burglary tool? Isn´t far more common, to use brut force to break into a property? Or have you ever heard about one, who spent money and al lot of time to get specialiced tools and skills to perfprm a crime? And isn´t lockpicking more of a sport? I mean there are even Championships in this sport. Ant the supreme codex of the lockpickng community is, to never pick a lock without the owners permission. So Why not to get in to this game? And why not to enrich geocaching with this kind of a challenge? I for my started lickpicking besaise of geocaching, and it kan be yet nice and frustraiting My lockpicking cache GC4899B have 47 founds on it and noone ever have applied force to it. As an owner, you should state clearly what tha challenge of this cache is. So most cacher without the intention to pick the lock nicely will avoid this cache. And for the few others, just built it sturdy enougt

Without rading the entire thread: I think the actual rating guidelines for cache sizeing is good enough. The only Problem is, they are often misapplyed. And I´m pretty sure that wouldn´t change by changing the guidelines.

I´ts too simple: If you didn´t found it, you didn´t found it. And in My oppinion it have to be a DNF in any Case you don´t sign the Log. According to the rules it´s not a owners decission to make, since the rule is as easy as mentioned before. No "real-world-log" = no virtual log! Even the examption of logfotos postet in substitution since you´ve lost yout Pen, showing the Logsheet in your hands, would according to the rules not be a found.... and not unless the owner says otherwise

Man hat als PMO-Owner gewisse Zusatzfunktionen, sieht z.B. wer sich das Listing angeschaut hat. Ob es einem das wert ist, Mitspieler die sich eine Premiummitgliedschaft nicht leisten können oder wollen, auszugrenzen muss jeder für sich entscheiden. Ich finde es absolut daneben, meine Logs enden alle mit *** Keine Favos für PMO- Caches !!! Cachen ist für alle da !!! *** und das zieh ich auch durch! Und nutze diese Gelegnehit für meinen Kleinaufstand Werbung zu machen
