  1. Has anybody else foound any of the armyman travel bugs? I found one this week that was in a tb hotel. THey have a website that is really cool, but unfortunately I fogot what it was and would like to get back to it. Does anyone have the site or info about it? Neat site, but I am not sure if it is attached to the geocache site.....
  2. Great to see that you are out there helping! Thank you! I have one that I am wanting to get out, but we just just moved and it is MIA right now. When are you leaving? I am in Reno and would love to have one tag along with you....I'll be in touch....
  3. The first one I foud was actually not listed in the description. IT showed on the site as having a wjtb in it, so we went for a nice drive and got it. It was one of the first in the area, then they started showing up all over the place. The note attached to it asked that who ever found it not log it in the cache to avoid it being stolen, and it seems to have worked for it is still out there traveling around. The other units I found, I did the same kind of tactic and so far all of them have not turned up missing. Sorry there are so many turds out there that like to wreck things.
  4. I have been in the middle of a horrible move for the last couple of months and have been out of touch....when did the contest end?
  5. Good lord, I hope not, or we got an airliner disaster last weekend.....
  6. you must have VERY large pants! Geez! The only thing in my pants, er uh other than what God gave me, is a really cool small LED keychain light I got out of the Highland cache here in Reno. Were you asking what people carry with them from other caches, or what they routinely carry to caches?
  7. We just found our first Yellow Jeep TB two weeks ago and then last Sunday, the white ones started showing up in Reno and we were lucky enough to find one way up on a mountian top. I was wondering if anyone actually won the contests and what they got from Jeep when they did. Congrats to you and I am glad to see that there are people like you out there to make the sport a stronger one for others. Good Job! Bahamadiver
  8. Gentle Distinguished K-9 Charles and Geopet Molly always love a good cache. All of us at Thompson Turvey Cache Bahamadiver

  10. Vent? Borrow one of mine! Next time, set a booby trap and eliminate the complaint dept. Idiots. Your cache's look great.
  11. that's what I thought....I placed the jeep the next day and the bug was stolen within 12 hours. Apparently there is someone that is stealing the Jeeps from our area. I was contacted by someone that was watching for Jeep TB's and was told that the last 4 he has gone after had "disappeared" from the cache before he had even gotten there.
  12. Are there any still available? Please email me and let me know if I can purchase one or 2
  13. I just found my first Jeep TB this week (and yes, I already put it back into another cache, actually did it the same day) and the number on the tag when pulled up was 10 digits lower than a number listed on the bottom of the Jeep. Any explanations? Also, since the original contest of 2004 is over for the Yellow bugs....would it be bad to keep one for the collection of neat things found? I know how coveted these are, so I wanted to place mine back into curculation (so others like me that want to see at least one can find one). Thanks for the help!
  14. I finally found my first Jeep this week and I was very excited. Was a little disappointed that it was a Yellow one, but I logged it and placed it the same day. The bug (#272) had only traveled 10 miles since it was placed in December of last year. Why jeep made such a cool item that is supposed to be spread around for a contest is beyond me. I know what they were thinking, but they should have just used a tag and it would be a lot more succesful. Oh well, I have my eye on another one for this weekend and I will play by the rules and get it out there. I will appologize for all the idiots out there. They're ignorant, what else can be said?
  15. prenup the TB's and the GPS.....
  16. As a relatively "new to the sport" kinda guy...should I have attached tags with goals to my bugs? I like the idea of someone helping my TB's by putting a detail oriented tag or a bag to protect them. This is kind of a common thing I have seen with cachers, everyone is always lookin gout for each other. Very good group of people!
  17. Thanks for the help Eartha.....let's see if this worked for the actual cache.. Eagles Nest Mr. B and I got it straightened out. He aparently wrote the number down wrong... He is a wizard, the first stage of this cache is something else. He has done such a fantastic job of disguising this one it is amazing. I highly recommend finding his caches if in the area Thanks again for the hhelp guys!
  18. Ok, now I know that I am still relatively new to this with only 30 or so finds, however, something really weird happened to a TB that I left and I can't figure it out. Three weeks ago, I visited Frog Rock in Northern California hidden by Mr. B, I was the FTF and left a travel bug named SK8BRD or something like that and several other treasures. No one has been to the cach but me and now the owner who was checking on the cache. He sent me an e-mail saying that he retreived a different TB. I know I am not crazy...(well, maybe a little, but the judge says a little more therapy and I can go back to society again, albeit unarmed this time). I have pictures of the TB going in to the cache, and no one has logged anything as a visit to this site. Thoughts? Also, I would have put a link the site, but am not sure how to do this where it shows the site by name and you click on it to get there. How do I do this? Bahamadiver
  19. dadgum, took the words right out of my mouth! Firearms are always a good way to get people to leave. Something about a round going off that always makes people want to leave the area. I go to court next Friday to discuss my thoughts on this matter with the nice judge.....
  20. One suggestion I have implemented here since my visit to a micro that got me and my 7 year old held up by an ignorant security guard (see souvenir penny cache in Nevada for details of the arrest) Call all the local law enforcement agencies and tell them about Geocaching and what it involves. I actually got a call from a Capt with the Reno police dept for explanation so he could tell the guys in a memo. Then, before you go out, call the local dispatch and tell them you are caching in the area you are going with a description of what you look like and a cell number. I have not had a single issue since. A little excessive, but after my kid got drug through a casino and tormented by Fern the 300lb 65 yr old loser guard for 45 minutes with me.....it's worth it
  21. I heard about it from a guy in my office. He was talking about a "treasure hunt" that he was doing with a friends GPS. I looked at the site and then talked to my wife about how cool it "would be....." A month later for XMAS I got a new Garmin 76 and have been having fun since. It is a great way for us to get out and get a little exercise and helps us with our rehabilitation froma bad accident. Great topic!
  22. Scared? Oops. I meant scarred. Remember, I got hit by a car..... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/yellowf4/e8ff187b.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v223/yellowf4/6acbafbb.jpg I feel better now, thanks. Jp
  23. What is it with you women? We don't bitch at you every time we have to "lift" the seat up because you put it down again????? And to answer the main question, listen to a line from a radio talk show host from L.A. named Tom Leykis (http://www.blowmeuptom.com/) and, "...dump that B@#$*!" Question: You know why divorces are so expensive? Answer: They are worth it!
