  1. Many thanks for your quick response!!! I will let them know.
  2. I had picked up a TB (TB191BY) to place in Indianapolis, IN on our last visit. I was unable to do any OF the caching in Indianapois that would allow me to place the TB there. I then asked "LAKEDOGS" TO DO IT FOR ME. Thus TRANSFERING OWNERSHIP TO THEM. At on time I thought I could note the transfer in a log and it would then transfer the ownership to "Lakedogs" and I would no longer be responsible for the TB's placement. HOW DO I DO THIS THE RIGHT WAY/////
  3. My last thread on the Garmin’s POI program is no longer working with GSAK program and I was wondering why and if I had done something wrong??? It had work find for several years and now no longer. A couple of you have given some good answers but I really do not care about getting any sound notification once I am near a cache. What I am concerned about is that I have lost the ability to be completely paperless with my Garmin 1490. Is there any way to get this back to the way it was where all the information about a cache can be downloaded on to my Garmin again or to an SD chip? Many thanks for your help in advance. Joe
  4. Thanks fellows for your insight into my problem. It appears that you are telling me that this change over was of Garmin’s making and not GSAK’s. Right??? I have sent a similar thread to Garmin Support last Thursday but I have not received anything back from them. I was not aware that the POI data I was receiving from GSAK was a .wav format. I just knew that last year it worked in my Garmin. I am now wondering that in GSAK --- File ----- Export ----- Garmin POI, what are you getting a .wav or MP3 format? Does anyone know? It is hard to believe that for years Garmin Nuvi’s pride themselves on being paperless and now they are not or at least I am doing something wrong.
  5. I am hoping that someone is able to help me with my Nuvi 1490. Just some quick history. I had a Nuvi 650 that I loved geocaching with and then just several months ago purchased a Nuvi 1490 and was very happy with it geocaching also. Yes I know it really isn’t the best for the deep woods cacher but at 73, I normally don’t venture too far into the woods anymore. Now for the problem. I recently have had to purchase a new computer, which caused me to be without any computer for over 2 months. I have reinstalled GSAK and Garmin’s POI Loader. I thought that I would know how to do this, but I am still screwed up somehow. I was able to download a query into the GSAK program and I was able to find my POI Loader program to get the programs talking with each other and it loaded the caches into the Nuvi 1490. But when I bring up a cache on the screen I am no longer getting the “complete” information that I am used to getting on my Nuvi 1490 on the specific cache. I am getting the directions and the map and a symbol of the cache location on the map. Once I press “press for more” all I get is the name of the cache, distance and the time to get to the cache. That is it on the information. I use to get the complete information as published. I am hoping that this information will help someone understand my dilemma. Just as a side note: There used to be YouTube videos that help us “old guys” in the world of techy stuff, but that are no longer available. Many thanks for your help. Joe
  6. Thanks for your replies. They all were very helpful!!! The badges you see are not official and not on the website. They are generated by some random statistics program out there and were basically just made up. The earthcache award levesl (bronze, silver, gold, and platinum) mentioned by the prior poster are perhaps the exception to this since they are administered through the GSA as part of the earthcache program.
  7. Hi, I am not new at geocaching (2004), but I have noticed on some of the cacher’s sites that they proudly display certain badges that they have been able to achieve over the years of caching. I have tried to find where these badges are within the main geocaching web site, but I have been unable to locate the page. I was hoping someone could direct me to the specific page that would mainly give the badges and their qualifications for achieving this honor. One particular badge that got my attention on a cache’s page was the “BRONZE EARTHCACHE MASTER BADGE”. I believe I would quality for this badge. Many thanks for your help in this matter. 8. I was hoping someone could help me. I just purchase a Windows Phone 7.5 Nokia 900. I loaded the require Geocaching App and all is working great EXCEPT......I get the cache and the description of the cache but I have been unable to get any of the logs. I was wondering if the app does not provide the logs or am I doing something wrong in the app to get to that page???? I also notice that it does not eliminate
  9. You go through the steps to renew your premium membership and use a Year Renewal Gift Card that was bought from Geocaching and it can not be used. I have followed all the steps and one of the steps is to use the "drop down menue" to get the "Gigt Card". Well, there is nothering there. Need help....PLEASE
  10. Many thanks for all the information on the satellite view on my android phone. I was able to following the instruction you have provide and now realized that “Yes” I do have it. !!!!!! Thanks
  11. I was recently with some friends that had an IPhone Geocaching app. The IPhone app was able to show a satellite view of the location of the cache which surprised me of its accuracy in locating the cache and especially the ease of getting you quite close to the final placement of the cache. I have the Android app which only provided the “map” view which showed the approximate location, but in no way gives you the accuracy that the IPhone did. Is there any hope to get the satellite view in the Android app?????
  12. There are a few great virtual caches in Kennesaw that are a lot of fun. There are two or three across the street from a fantastic museum: Southern Museum of Civil War and Locomotive History in Kennesaw. Also there is a civil war virtual cache at the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield. This one may take a couple of hours to do since you will do some nice walking. It tell the story of the Battle for Atlanta. These caches even though are all virtual will most likely take a pretty good part of your day.
  13. I, too, received an email that I would receive a souvenir on caches found in Iowa, but it never showed up.
