While hiking in a local state park (Henry W. Coe) I saw a survey marker just off the trail set in a concrete footer. I took a photo (sorry, it was a real photo not digital and thus not on my computer). It was marked "California Dept of Parks & Beaches" with the year 1966 and the designation F-5 stamped into it. I read the FAQ on benchmarks that aren't on the website, so I just wanted to share this info with everyone. I'm hoping someone can give me some history on these benchmarks and maybe a little about the old department of Parks and Beaches.
