  1. Hey I found it - at the very bottom of my screen. Thanks so much!
  2. That looks exactly like what I’m looking for, but even on the new dashboard I don’t see anything regarding events that would get me to that exact page. I’m sorry to be so dense - but how did you get to that screen?
  3. I wanted to see which events were going on today, thinking it’s 2-2-22 day and I could put a dent in an event challenge, but I couldn’t find any way to see just events for a certain date. There used to be a calendar where you could select the specific day and see all the events for that date - is that still available?
  4. OMG! That worked!! I never even thought of that! You don’t know what a relief this is, I’ve spent hours on this. Ok, lesson learned. Gosh I so appreciate your help! Thank you!
  5. Hey all - I’m trying to download pocket queries into my Garmin 64s like I’ve done a hundred times before, but now it won’t do the copy to the GPX file. It’s says there is not enough free space to do the copy. I have cleared all the old caches from the unit, and waypoints. It confirms that it is empty when I turn it on. I have looked at everything, and I am stumped. I tried deleting and recreating my queries, and I get the same message. Has anyone seen this before? I don’t get why it would suddenly start doing this.
  6. Awesome!! Mapping from my profile page is perfect. Thanks! I tried changing the search radius, which does increase the number of caches in the list, but Map These Results will still only map out 1000. But I will just use the option on my profile page now anyway. Thanks to both of you for taking the time to respond!
  7. Hey there, in the old days, when I did Find A Cache, it pretty much downloaded everything. I could make the list, then hit Map These Results and I could move the map in all directions and it would just keep filling in the caches. Now, if I hit Home Coordinates, or even search on a city, it comes up with a very small search area. I have to go suburb by suburb, creating a new search for each suburb. Is there a way to change some filter to download it the old way, to cover the whole Twin Cities metropolitan area? Thanks!
  8. When you mark them as found, they go to the Found folder on your GPS. Then, you can go to menu and go to Found Caches and get a great look at what you've accomplished for that day. And, they are all together for logging as found at geocaching.com. The problem with not being able to delete them is they stack up in that folder. The next time you go out and find more caches, you have to figure out which ones were for that day and which were previous and already logged. The more this goes on, the bigger the mess. When you log the caches, it is best to use the "field notes" system. If you do that, there will be no confusion when you do your logging. Everything will be presented in order on the computer and semi-automated for you. It is much easier than looking them up on the GPS. http://www.geocaching.com/my/fieldnotes.aspx As above, if you update the PQ file on the GPS, the found caches will also leave the GPS with no other intervention. Yes, thanks for the suggestion. This is another method that also will involve having to lug out the lap top and plug in the GPS. I get it, its a trade off in order to have to logs and hints and such, there is now this pain in the backside about clearing off Found Caches. No more easily sitting down with my ipad and taking care of logging them and just hitting delete. The only way now is with the cluncky laptop, either to use basecamp, do a new PQ or to use geocaching field notes. I was also responding to people who didnt understand why there was a need for a simple delete button. For some of us, it was very valuable. I just really wish I could make basecamp work for deleting. It says its supposed to be easy, but I am obviously missing a step. or if I could wish for anything, its for a goll darn Delete button!

I do think I tried emptying the wastebasket, but I can try that again. Thanks! Are you using Pocket Queries to get the caches to your GPS? Why not select Have NOT Found for the PQ. Then you wont have Found caches being put back to the GPS... Yup - always use pocket queries to load caches onto the GPS, and yes, I always only load Not Found. But a PQ lasts me a few weeks or longer. Once loaded I usually can go caching several times before I need to do another one. In the meantime, all those Found Caches can get to be a mess. I'd hate to have to do a PQ every single time I went caching.

  11. I too detest the fact that I gave up the easy delete available on my Garmin 60s when I upgraded to the 64s. I dont have a smart phone (which is why I wanted the logs and hints available on the 64s). So I go caching, then come home and log my caches all at once. I used to then delete them as each was logged. It was clean and efficient and I could do it all with my ipad. Not so now. I have to lug out the laptop and plug the GPS in. Argh! And so far I have not found a way to delete just the found caches. I am using Basecamp Legacy for MAC. MY found caches come in the same list as my unfound caches, so I hunt and peck for them. Then I delete. But when I log back into my GPS, the found caches are still there. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Again. Argh!
  12. Ok - I'm calling this a Christmas Miracle. I tried this yesterday, with Garmin on the phone, and I swear it didn't work. Today I figure I'll try it again, and it worked great. Thanks so much for taking the time to respond - I would not have tried again if you hadn't. Also, I did empty the trash with each try, but thank you all for responding so quickly. I am going to clear it all off and try again just to make sure I really got it down. So happy!!!! Hmmm - I wonder if I did in fact empty the trash with each try...... I wonder if I used basecamp and it downloaded it badly and then I didn't delete it all off properly before doing the correct way to do it. I will know now that if I see it has not been changed, EMPTY the TRASH!

  14. Has anyone out there successfully downloaded geocaches to a Garmin 64s using Basecamp Legacy? We bought the 64s because our old 60S didnt provide logs and hints. But so far all my queries off geocaching.com only download the GC name, no logs or anything, and only as waypoints. I spent hours talking to Garmin and they finally said they dont really support Basecamp Legacy (apparently our MAC is too old for the current basecamp version) and said they couldn't help me. I've trid going directly from geocaching.com, like we did with the 60S, but nothing happens. I've tried importing the files to basecamp and then sending to GPS and it appeared as I described - in waypoints and incomplete. I tried moving the GPX files into the files on Garmin icon, and it appeared the same way. Argh! Anyone else experience this?
