I have seen a few people talk about bleaching the jars. This keeps from attracting animals, but it helps with allergies too. There are a lot of people that are allergic to peanuts and/or eggs. This helps out the safety of others.

Mine is having the same problem. Although the software in mine is corrupt and will not allow the firmware to download. Magellan will not service the unit and offered me a replacement for $119.00. I paid $200 for it in July of 2010 and it "broke" in February of 2012. It was running version 1.7. I don't want to spend an additional $119 every year and a half just to go geocaching. Does anyone know a crack in the software that can help me out? I tried all of the above steps and was on the phone with customer service twice.
