  1. Really you don't need much of the computing power of the PDA to do what I'm proposing. You need an app to read in GPX files (which are basically XML) and display the info in a pleasing manner. All of the other junk that the PalmOS and Windows Mobile has is really not used. I could see the price point being closer to $500. I'm not saying I'm going to start producing them but I'd bet they would get snapped up pretty quick if they were easy to use.
  2. OK so really there is no "rugged" PDA/GPSr unit out there. You'd think this would be a good market. It seems like some have put a GPSr in a PDA when you really need the opposite. Wow the iQue does look fragile. I think there is a good potential market for this.
  3. I tried a search but the search terms are pretty common giving no useful results. I'm sure this has been asked before however. With some of the wiz-bang features of the new GPSr's are there any that allow you to download cache pages (as PDFs or GPX or some other format?) Ideally I'd love to find one that would allow you to just drag and drop your PQ onto the device then have a menu to allow you to choose a cache, hit GO TO and away you go. Maybe this has been possible for some time while I sit in the stone age with my Etrex Legend...
  4. I meant looking at the caches online. I see a cache way out in the woods and think "cool, I like the looks of that one". Then I see it's a micro. There are also those that are not "size" marked so it's a guessing game as to their size.
  5. We don't like micros because we like to read the logs and see what the others who have found the cache have to say. Urban micros are OK (I mean sometime you don't have the room) but it really burns me when I see a cache 10 miles from civilization back in the woods and it's a micro. I mean come on... You have the room. Make it a real cache.
