  1. But that is your interpretation. There is no where on any of the Ground Speak pages that states this is etiquette. So show me where it states it. And if you say refer to post 2 again than someone should actually help you read. Etiquette does not come from Groundspeak. Etiquette is decided by those that came before you. That is true in geocaching, the internet, and the dinner table. You have been informed as to the established etiquette. You can chose to speak with your mouth full of food, or you can politely chew and swallow before opening your mouth. One behavior will be considered polite, the other rude. Pretty simple stuff, it would seem. I understand what you are saying here. Can we create a thread then that outlines what the etiquette on the boards is when it comes to caches? This thread being a case in point. This way things can be discussed, and we will have a set etiquette guideline which we can refer to in situations like this.

  3. For that matter, how would you feel if others gave out spoilers to your regular caches here? OK, some of you wouldn't mind... its under the lamp skirt or behind the guard rail, or under the pile of sticks. But you get my drift. I understand your drift. I wouldnt mind if someone said its a morse code cipher. They arent giving up the solution. Yes, they are. If it is a morse they have made it a matter of transcribing instead of figuring out what it is. Thats where you and I differ. I wouldnt mind. I can edit my post if the Frog wants me to. "The frog" won't ask you to do that. We are discussing etiquette, not rules. As for you not minding that is why I said to ask the cache owner. It is their call as to how much or how little of a hint to give. If they didn't respond I would guess they didn't want to give more hints. Not to be mean, but can you show me where the etiquette section is so I can read it?

  6. Yeah it's a game, so? Doesn't bother me. But apparently it bothers Frog HQ, if they've put pressure on cheating websites to be shut down for years, or banned cachers for posting puzzle solutions on facebook. Just reporting the facts, maam. Ok did I post the solution anywhere? Did I tell someone how to solve it. I just answered what I believed the ciphers to be. If the Frog wants to ban me for that so be it. Then I know what the game is really about. And it wont be about community. When you see your brother needs help you help him.
  7. I am mulling over in my head how to do a very different enigma cipher where letters become numbers, and even those are run through a cipher again. Or maybe just a multiple layer enigma text. We will have to see.
  8. You have to never sleep, always be driving around, and basically be ready to go whenever they publish a cache. Dont worry about FTF. Just go cache for the fun of it.
  9. Please take a read of post #2. I am sorry you took offense to my post. Helping is not a bad thing. Some people have no clue what something is. If you cant ask for help then what do you do? Never find the Cache? As he said in post #2: Ok I sent an email to a cache owner because I tried a Turing Bombe simulator that didnt crack his enigma cipher. It has been awhile with no reply. What am I supposed to do? Just wait until he replies, or try to find help else where?

  11. It looks like Morse code at the top. The bottom could be substitution, or it could be enigma?
  12. If I was you I would explain why you want to place a cache there. Show them that you have thought about it, and that you have considered the impact to the Park that caching could create. You have to understand that they worry about the impact that can come from allowing activities.
  13. I guess that I was lucky. The one cache I have placed was reviewed and published like 3 hours after submitting. I did however learn from the forums to contact my reviewer, and work with them ahead of time. That way it was smooth publishing.
  14. Are you sure those are geocaches, and not escape care packages
  15. This is From the Los Angeles area. I think there is more, but the system will only let me do 1000 total. My PQ only goes up to 7.1 miles. So yeah I know there are more. The actual number for 10 miles is 1391, but within 25 miles I have 5887 different caches to find. Yay for me.
  16. If you look at the only cache that I have placed it is a historical cache. Its placed on the site of an old Army Air Station that is no longer due to progress.
  17. GZ= Ground Zero TN= Took nothing LN= Left nothing SL= Signed log TFTC= Thanks for the cache TFTH= Thanks for the hide Thats all I can think of sorry. Search the forums you will find another thread about this.
  18. My first and only hide is not so creative, but to me the creative part is the history of the area that I talk about. To me even if the hide isnt that great if the history that made you want to do the hide is explained, and good then it is a good hide.
  19. Move it, and have fun while doing it. That way you enjoy it.
  20. Boy, 83 degrees right now and 80 percent humidity. Does that mean when I go outside I have to swim to the car? I am going to come out there to LA and hang with you for a while if that is OK. Thats fine its like 88 here with a nice little breeze. No humidity that I know of today. Plus tonight will be a nice 69 to cool off to. Gotta love that nice California weather. If your near the coast. 10:43 am 88 degrees and 40% humidity here in the Inland Empire and its supposed to hit at least 100% here today I am like 15 minutes from Hollywood if you drive on the street. Its not bad yet here. I am just waiting to die next week.
  21. Breakfast? Ill put in my order now. I would like some pancakes, and some bacon, and a hot chocolate please. No need to order, just run down to Home Town Buffet. They will be open in a few more hours. Their food sucks. Golden Coral(sp?) is much better. Havent had that though in like 10+ years. So I will stick with my original order.

  23. Still doesnt feel like it. But I will take this over the normal summer heat any day.
