  1. I just did a quick Yahoo search, "Cristo Redentor" results were 10 pages plus. You may also want to Google it . SF1
  2. I Markwelled Markwell earlier today Dag, I've been Smurfed. Yukk! SF1
  3. WOW You would think, someone with so many issues about geocaching, one would just pull out their GPS batteries, and disconnect their computer. End of Problems! Since you can't Markwell the " Markwell Master" , we'll just have to "Mopar" him! The “UnMasked” Cache Cop
  4. Hey there Jasarah27 Only way I know of is to create 4 "micros", each holding something special, to make the cacher hit them all. You could put a coord number in it, or maybe a word phrase. Have the final very hard to find without a tip or coord from the earlier micro's. A friend of mine did the following series. Wee One - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...c8-1e23246183c0 Wee Two - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...83-5a81a49caf6c Wee Three - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...aa-60e84dd73720 Wee Final - http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ef-c56d6fd60db9 So, yes it can be done. Just take your time when you set it up. Good Luck SF1
  5. And here I thought you had me ! Glad it was someone else! I do understand your thought! But, I think the only rule is to keep it moving! Not, just to handle it once, and let it go. I'm sure, many want to share in the movements. Maybe, the last 1000 will be released someday. Jeep On , SF1
  6. Nice Travel Bug but, !!! I didn't see any wheels , and was that a weapon or a real bat! . Where's Nancy Kerrigin, when we need her! This guy, might be the CannonBall Cops, first arrest! SF1
  7. R&T4SURE If you sent emails to them and they didn’t bounce back, 10:1 they still have a valid email link, and received your messages. You could also try and use a ___post-a-note___ to their cache pages. I would give it 30 days, for them to answer. Then , maybe drop a line to your approver, politely asking them to help nudge the owner on. The other thing may be, they already arranged for someone to take care of them. Be patient, happy caching SF1
  8. How about calling it a cache without an attitude. I just have to make RK laugh! SF1
  9. Hey ducky, You mentioned you sent the pics to your friend to upload. If you were able to send the pics via the internet, you shouldn’t have a problem uploading them to the site. That is, unless the site was very busy. I run the same software, even thru dial up, it worked ok. Make sure your pics are reduced down around 100K. I know someone’s going to say the site resizes it. But, I just prefer to do it myself and be sure! I usually drop mine down to about 85-90k to also allow for text. Hope this helps some. SF1
  10. Ditto as to Briansnat comments. One added note: As you draw up each page of 20 caches, instead of checking each box individually, scroll to the bottom of the page and on the right, you‘ll see a small box “Check All”. If you click on that first, then on “Download Waypoints”, it will save you from having to click on each box separately. Happy Caching SF1
  11. We did this one, a Night Cache to boot with the same style. Try chasing the wrong trail for 45 min to 1 hr. while most of your flashlights go dead. It was the most fun of all to do. Nature at Night GCJWCB Nature View Park #4 AKA Nature at Night by Nocturnal Urkel and Fleece We never did hear the coyotes. It could be, we made too much noise, and scared them away. SF1
  12. Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Haaappy Anniversary.. Ooooo Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Haaappy Anniversary Ooooo Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Happy Anniversary Haaappy Anniversary Did I say, Happy Anniversary! SF1
  13. Your $.64 answer is Thanks For The Cache. SF1
  14. Hey Thanks, Welcome to the sport/addiction. You’ve touched on one of the hottest debates in geocaching! You will see there are basically two camps, Garmin and Magellan. Your price range is a very good one. You will get one, very well suited for geocaching and other stuff in that range. Here are the links to both sites. Garmin - http://www.garmin.com/products/etrex/ Magellan - http://www.magellangps.com/en/gpsAdventures/outdoor/ I suggest before you buy, read up on both brands. Compare units in your price range, and get the best you can afford. It will prolong, upgrading further down the road. Yes, you will end up upgrading, as most of us have. Once you narrow down your choices, get out to your local shop and (test drive) place them in your hand and check the (feel/comfort) fit. It’s kinda like shopping for a car, Chevy/Ford, compact/midsize/luxury. The next/other issue would be if you want onboard mapping. Note Each brand has their own mapping system you must use. No you can’t mix and match on this issue. If you think you want the mapping onboard, also compare the price on the software. Hope this doesn’t confuse you more, but will help guide you. Welcome to the addiction! SF1
  15. I was about to say let it stand! But after reading RK’s explanation, he is right 100%. With the exception of Enspyer’s explanation, of being locals or out-of-towners. Walking a fine line on the fence, is tough! SF1
  16. Silverwolfe, Usually what is done in the log book. The first one that finds the cache will put something like “Found it with X,Y & Z, or “the group of us found it”, the date (sometimes time) their note and their sig. Then the rest will put their note and sig. For online you can add more/less to your note. You can mention who all was there in details, as well. But each finder will have to log their own find and message themselves. Hope this helps! SF1
  17. Here are some other forum links, where to buy, too. 1) http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...dpost&p=1133989 2) http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...dpost&p=1141887 3) http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...ndpost&p=973557 4) http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...dpost&p=1005781 5) http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...dpost&p=1025858 SF1
  18. Geo Coins are available from many states. I know of several states that have them, Southern California, Mass, NY, several in the Northwest, east and west of the Ohio Valley area, and in the South East. Also, there are some from up North in Canada, as well. Follow this link, on another forum thread discussing them, http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...dpost&p=1228137 , to see many of the states listed. SF1
  19. As to IV Warrior, Sure you can, you just edit your remarks! I've seen it done many times. As a “WheresGeorger” / “Georger”, I’ve taken bills from caches and released many into caches. The theory of the site is to just spend them as naturally as possible. I’ve just crossed logging 1200 bills worth $10.250, and I’ve probably places some where’s around 100 in caches instead of swag. As to PrimeSuspect’s quote, that is true but as Briansnat states, they will be taken of the top ten lists. You can read more here at http://www.wheresgeorge.com/ . Hope that will help explain some things. SF1
  20. Another way is to search for caches from your home, and look for cachers names that appear on several cache pages. Send a polite email, introducing yourself, and try to arrange a meeting place and catch a cache or two. Limit your time and together and feel each other out. Then you can follow up in another week or so, for another meet and cache. Another way is to go to a local event, introduce yourself and try to hook up with someone and do a few caches at the event. That usually breaks the ice. Most other cachers are always willing to help out. SF1
  21. I usually don’t log a DNF until I am sure I won’t be going back after it. I try never to log a DNF, I’ll use a Post-A-Note to let the owner and other players know I attempted to find it. Or, Unless, I’m 100% sure it’s not there. I’ve had to log only two DNF’s. One, I went back and found after someone else did find it. I just looked a little harder. The other was definitely muggled. A DNF log, could mean a few things, a ) It’s missing, (at worst). b ) It’s hid better than it’s rated, so I usually don’t give up till I’ve found it. I’m known not to give up. c ) I only had a few minutes to search for it because of time constraints. I’ve seen where cachers use the 7 minute rule per star, if it’s Dif rated is two star it should take less than 15 min. to find. Some use a 20 minute rule. There are many interpretations, of what the standard meaning should be. I think the type of logs should be something like: 1) Found it, 2) Hunted it, couldn’t locate it, 3) Found it. 4) Couldn’t find the parking. SF1
  22. Hey Jerseytrex, If I understand correctly, what you want to do is create hyperlinks your/someone else’s tb’s. If this is not what you want to do, can you explain in more detail. I’m not sure you can link them all together. Like clicking on one link and, ex.( all four pages open). One of two ways you can do it is as follows: A) 1) Go to each TB page and bookmark that page, then open your “bookmarks manager” and right click to select the properties. 2) On the property tab, a new box opens, -- make sure to copy all the text – copy the text in the “Location”. 3) Paste it on the page where you want it, you should be done. 4) If you want to place the tb name as a hyperlink, look at the below example and change the GCxxxx to the TB Name. EX. #1 - <b>Wilson - Tuscarora SP #1 <a href= "http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=d1226a34-80ef-4ab2-bb52-14bf2024746f">GC89FE</a></b><br> 1) Use notepad to compile all the links, copy and paste the addresses to it. You want to copy the address in the browser address bar, including the “http” and then open each tb page and copy the links to each page, placing where you want them. 2) Refer to the above, step 4 to use the name as a link. Hope this is what you are trying to do. Good Luck! SF1
