  1. I haven't heard of any guidlines on power trails. There are quite a few power trails in DFW, some with more than 20 caches. Very cool house.
  2. what is sumac? sounds like a sumo wrestling gansta rapper.
  3. " I was floored to say the least. As time progressed I noticed more and more of the smalls I found were actually micros. Could it be that so many micros have been mislabeled that it has skewed the perception of some as to what the sizes really are? I don't know. So far I haven't noticed this past the micro as small stage. why would they care about that? Do they really want someone to find their cache and be pissed about it?
  4. Yes, I tweaked the listing, removing the mention of erratic boulders and it was quickly approved. I even had bit of fun changing it from 'erratic boulder' to 'a radical boulder.'
  5. Well, I really want to avoid a conflict with the cacher, but I think I may have no choice. The cache description even notes that writing the story is an ALR and is optional. However, my log was deleced and I have had no response from the CO. Bolded section is exactly why this should be brought up to GC.com. This should be fixed to prevent other cachers from falling victim to this CO, but it is not your fight. Let GC.com handle it. +1 That would be funny. From my actual log (2nd log) I was on my way to this cache but was immediately turned around because a log on another cache was deleted for not following an ALR. So after I reported it to the reviewer and dismissed the CO, I made my way over here. I was concerned about the safety of other cachers having to search for this cache in the moat of crocs (there are hundreds of those ugly shoes in the moat), so I called the bomb squad and reported the cache as suspicious.
  6. As a hider, I don't care if someone signs the log, etc. Hiding the cache is for my enjoyment and for the purpose of bringing cachers to the cache. After that, it's beyond me. I've never been too concerned about a cachers log on one of my caches. If they want to log the find, so be it. I'm even thinking about putting out a challenge cache that requires you to have only previously found a cache. I get tired head sometimes with the 'you must create a public bookmark' or "you must email me your list' or 'you must send a screenshot of whatever.'
  7. Yep, it seems that alot of folks have taken liberties with the rule that a cacher must physically sign the log in order to claim a find. I guess stamps and lables are okay, as long as they are on the physical log, not the log container. Pretty soon, it'll be accepted that cachers can shoot an arrow at the cache with their geonic inscribed on it. Why not etch your ititials into a bullet and shoot it near the cache from hundreds of yards away? You could find all of them in a few hours. Or, just take a jet ride over the path and will your sig to each log. If you believe it's true, isn't that good enough?
  8. I've hid some without a GPSr and used Google and had spot on coords. I've used my GPSr for some with the same results. Mostly, I cross reference my coords with Google as a redundancy.
  9. I'm sure it is just a bandwidth or performance issue on the GS network.
  10. There's probably many more options than 3, but I think I'll do the first one, then number 3. Thanks. there's the 4th, keep logging a find every time it gets deleted, see who's got the stronger nerves HAHA!
  11. Yes, it's a liar's cache. I wrote something really lame just to fulfill the ALR.
  12. There's probably many more options than 3, but I think I'll do the first one, then number 3. Thanks.

  14. OK, my log was deleted from a cache with that requirement. I'm not opposed to writing a story. In fact, I've been writing it, just haven't logged it. I logged the smiley with a note that a story was pending. I just want it to be really good. I've emailed the CO. Any opinions on how this should be handled. I don't want to report it to GS, but I am a little PO'd that a cacher is enforcing an ALR.
  15. Is requiring a cacher to write a fictional story in a traditional cache log an ALR?
  16. Isn't everything? Just to play Devil's advocate, when has a terrorist targeted a railroad track? I agree they should be a distance away due to trespassing laws, but not because of terrorism.
  17. I think the Famous People series is over 600. The bridges series is at least over 700. But, the ET is the longest power trail in the world.
  18. I like the thinking behind it, but there are very good cache hiders with less than 100 finds. They just aren't into the hunting part of the game.
  19. I wouldn't have backed down from claiming the FTF's. Even if you didn't attend the event and happened to find the cache out of miraculous luck, you were still the FTF. There are too many people like that in this game. I find that having a sarcastic cavalier attitude with them usually drops them off their high horse. Cache for yourself and forget about anybody that has a problem with it.
  20. 1 second. There are no guidelines regarding the time you must commit to an event. I usually stay at least an hour or more.
  21. I find that if I take my fancy camera with all the crazy filters and zooms then I just look like an eccentric photographer.
