  1. Well... Two weeks from tonight, a huge portion of you will be here in town! Woo Hoo! I know AG is planning a cache run out to the casino, and that group will plan on doing a little gambling, and then caching on their way back. I am going to pick a restaurant in town or maybe a pizza place that has room. I'll have an informal meet and greet there for anyone that wants to stop by. I'll try to find a place with a wifi, so we can have access there. Maybe we could organize some runs from there. It will be a good place to hook up and form a group. Just some idle thoughts....
  2. You work for Sunrise? Someone's in the know We're a contract screenprinter (one of many) for Sunrise. That's pretty cool! So the shirts look good? We've only seen artwork thus far I thought they looked great! Just like the artwork Who did you guys work with at Sunrise? I'd guess Tim? I always get a thrill when we do the Geocaching shirts. Of course, I'd rather be Geocaching than at work You guessed right! Will handled the majority of the ordering, but the little bit I worked with Tim I could tell he was a great guy.
  3. Oh boy...two more weeks, and a lot of us are going to be in the same room together! Oh BOY!
  4. My wife may argue that being hard to live with is the norm...not the exception.
  5. Excited...YES! NERVOUS...Just a bit! Anxious...YES! Let's face it...I'm a wreck!
  6. BEEP BEEP....We all float down here! I'm sorry if you don't get IT.
  7. Wow! My wife came home with new puppy last night, so I never turned my computer on...see what I missed?!? After reading this thread from start to finish this morning, it appears that things have been resolved...or are well on their way to being resolved. While I don't agree with what was done, I honestly don't believe it was done maliciously. (I hope I spelled that right!) It appears they have corrected their error in judgement, and that is a commendable step. If I remember correctly, even one of the trading sites used to have, or maybe still has a picture with a bunch of coins in a pile. Memory says that those were all sample coins, and there were a few ruffled feathers at the time that pic was posted. The reason I bring that up, is that it would seem we have all known about samples for a long time now, so that isn't an issue. Trading those samples is a different story all together, and I think we have some resolution on that now.
  8. Groundspeak said that the organizers of that event have told them they are expecting 700 people, and that 500 is a lock. Based on that, they were allowed to list it as a Mega. It appears we will make it, but since I couldn't promise...we won't get it until after...
  9. Your thread may be re-directed before I can actually post this... But all of your questions can be answered in this forum HERE. And, if you can get to So Cal in 2.5 weeks, there is a national geocoin festival where many of the vendors will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have!
  10. We have had such freakishly good weather out here that I've been getting anxious about it holding out for so long. I don't think we've even had 1/2 inch of measurable rain since the first. We have a small system in today that is giving us light rain. Hopefully, we get a bit this week, and then it will clear for a few more! I keep reading everyone's posts about coming out to the sun! I hope the weather cooperates!
  11. Since I doubt he'll ever part with it...it's priceless! OTOH, if you come to the GeocoinFest next month...I'll bet he'll let you see it!
  12. Over the weekend I got a 2 Happy Hikers coin from a trade. Today, I got 6 Mouth of the South coins...
  13. Ok gang, when you get a minute, check the event page HERE and see if your state is colored in! We have about 22 or 23 states still showing white, let me know if we missed you! Whats up with the Great Plains? I guess nobody caches there eh? Edited because I am tired, and an idiot on top of that! I linked to the website, and the map is on the event page! DOH!
  14. This really isn't on topic...but I wanted to brag about our great day last Saturday. We went to Palm Springs since there was an event out there. We did a 5 mile hike in the desert out to an oasis. On the 5 mile loop...there were 31 caches! Woo Hoo!
  15. Bump to remind everyone to get busy nominating! Let's see some SD area caches in the running!
  16. If you haven't nominated your favorite caches of 2006...you'd better hurry up! I'll bump Showstop's thread with the link. We are going to host the awards at the event next month, it would be nice to see some local caches in the running!
  17. Here is the answer to the people the do care: When we open up Pre-Orders, we will limit it to 2 per person to be picked up at the event. This will be for the first 300 coins. This allows everyone to have the chance to get 2 coins without the mob of people at our table. I am adding a little extra into peoples Pre-Order bag as well . The rest will be sold First Come First Served at our table, no limit. Sounds like a good solution.
  18. I don't think they have been offered yet. At least I hope not, I missed it if they did. Hmmm... Back on page 5, at least one person mentioned receiving an email asking how many of which metals they wanted. I think it was just an e-mail getting an idea of what people wanted? Not a final for anything. That is correct. If you are on their mailing list, you should have received an email asking for your interest in the coins. They used the feedback from that mailing to guage how many coins to order. Once the coins are in-hand, the sales will go live. You can see the coin on theri stock geocoin page. There is a link there you can click to be sure you are notified when they go live.
  19. They are event only, since you can only get them at the event...you can't buy them and have them shipped to you. That the is the only restriction.
  20. I have to admit, the only reason I would like to see TPTB step in and stop the practice would be to hear the collective gasp of horror when folks log in to the site one day and see their find counts have dropped significantly! However, since Jeremy has made it very clear that he doesn't intend to make the change...then this debate doesn't really serve any purpost other than for entertainment value...
  21. All of the fuss is about temporary caches at events. You cannot list a temporary cache on this site, and you cannot have an event for the express reason to go out and hunt caches. Somewhere along the way, folks started setting up temorary caches at events to give folks a little something to enjoy. Then, many of those people were bothered since finding these temporary caches didn't add to their numbers. So, they then started logging an "Attended" to the event for as many temp caches as they found. Therefore, you see some folks attending the same event 10 or 20 times... That's it in a nutshell.
  22. FUM MATTERS FUM?? FUM. Fundimentally Underhanded Methods. You dog...you beat me to it (I'm not sure I would have thought of the exact same acronym, but I was thinking right along with you...). Fum Ya’ll assuming again thinking I misspelled FUM but didn’t, go here [link removed by moderator] just having a little fun with the good old boys shooting folks or their views down Joe I find the fact that you provided this link beneath you Joe...
