  1. Congrats! Even after finding a few I still enjoy that. "Yes! I found it" My personal advice. Stick to the trail. At least long enough to confirm it doesn't cut back towards the cache. More than once I've started bushwacking only to find the trail again. D'oh! I'm confused. You say it like that's a BAD thing... Found #2 today with my son....experienced this EXACT THING. I guess I'm just hard-headed After bushwacking, rolling my ankle jumping over a small creek, my son getting all scratched up with small branches....I FOUND IT HAHAHAHA Of course, it was unecessary since the cache was just a little ways off of the trail....opps But I agree...somehow that made all that pain and effort a little sweeter.
  2. Hey I found one. Thanks for the advice everybody.
  3. OK folks, I'm striking out here. The first one I went looking for, I screwed up the directions (it was a multicache). I think I could find that one now if I went back. But I tried to find a different one today, a so-called easy one and came up empty. I've read all of the beginners guides. Maybe I've just been unlucky to this point? I guess my main question is the concealment of the cache. My understanding is that they are not buried in the ground or anything. I understand the need to conceal them to some extent, but how well hidden are these things usually? I'm having fun so far, but frustrated in that I still haven't found a cache!
  4. Got a GPS V for x-mas. Still a noob, but love the unit so far. I've only tried hunting for one cache so far, but I think I've been bitten by the bug nonetheless.
