  1. What the big deal about posting a Needs Archived? If the Cache Owner won't fix the problem then it needs to be archived. I don't want these problem caches showing up on my PQ's.
  2. I use special equipment to get to ALL caches by driving a motor vehicle. Then I use special equipment - reading glasses and also special equipment a pen or pencil to fill in the logs. I also travel in special equipment - called clothes. I have placed two Island caches that once you get to the island are a walk in the park. I only rated them 1 1/2 star terrain because most wheelchairs don't have all terrain tires on them .
  3. For the record, I edited out the other guy's email address in my post. I left the poster's email because I figured he didn't mind it being there since he's the one that posted it. (which was sort of confirmed when he edited his post and did the same) Thanks for helping out. I'm waiting on GC to hear my Case...
  4. Thanks for that. I just cut and pasted the conversation and didn't think about the email addresses. As you can see I don't post very often but wanted advice on this from the more experianced crowd.
  5. Then you should go back and edit that post. Okay I did that for you.
  6. I had to look up "In Berfore The Lock." Thanks for adding another another piece of interesting information to my already over crowded brain.
  7. Prime Reviewer is a God and to be feared. Ho Ho . Sorry about the email addresses didn't think about that.
  8. Berlin is a hard cache and for one person to climb the wall and sign for all the other is not fair but I don't think that I was that rude in the log, was I and it was not a Native_Texan cache anyway. Actually I liked this cache so much that I contacted the Berlin CO off the record and said "....-- Copy of email sent to Setheriah -- Just wanted to say off the record what a great cache this was and I had a great time doing it. Put some more of these up please as they are much better than the Lamp skirt caches. Thanks once again Pete - Ferret Patrol. :D
  9. I may have said that the cache called "lake view" that I did at night and couldn't see the lake.......... But that is no reason to throw a wobblie is it? This is a game after all.
  10. But I did sign the logs all 20 of them, some that I did with others. His email just said that he didn't like the way I wrote my log entries and will not let me do any more of his. Does that seem like a fellow geocacher. This is supposed to be a fun game.
  11. I have had 20 of my logged finds deleted by the owner for no reason. He says that he thinks I'm a Jerk but as far as I know he has never met me. Even if I am a jerk (not saying that I am mind you) is it allowed to delete ones logs after I have found the cache far and square?
  12. I'm thinking of buying the HTC X7501 for Geocaching. Does anyone out there have any experince with this device.
  13. What interface do you have set on the eTrex when using CacheNav? It should be NMEA in/out, not Garmin. Garmin interface is only for transferring waypoints; NMEA is the standard language for talking to other applications. Changing protocols is covered in the manual. ............. Thanks Stan. When I set the etrex interface to NMEA (http://www.kh-gps.de/nmea-faq.htmout) , they did indeed handshake. I was getting a bit desperate trying out all the baud variations, fixes like LdserLib, SerialFix and running other apps like Cetus. Every time I tried something else I had to go outside in the cold to get a fix on the Sats. I had thought - silly me - that at my age I was passed reading manuals. It been a while since I flew fixed wings so that must be the reason. Once again thanks for the help. Now that I have the etrex and the Palm T3 talking have you any suggestions as to how to mount the two units together on the car dash. Did you make something yourself or buy commercially. Second question is regarding Mapopolis verse Tom Tom. Anyone have any preferences? (disregarding the cost) --- Thanks Pete.
  14. Need help please. I read lots of post and of course am new to this, Brought a Yellow Etrex and a Palm T3 and connecting cable. Also have Cachmate and Gsak etc. Gsak downloads to the Etrex and Palm but CacheNav doesn't see the GPS. I think that I read somewhere there's a design problem on the T3 ? How do I get the Palm to see the Etrex.
  15. I've had my two week crash course in GPS basics and now I've ordered a Palm T3 to help with cutting down on the paper carrying. I read somewhere that I could conect the GPS and the T3. Can anyone help on the type of cable and where can I get one from. This is my first posting, so be gentle.
