  1. We have a few of the antique silver Outdoorfamily Non trackable coins left if anyone is interested..throw a trade offer up..thanks
  2. After hearing some grumbling by others at and following last years event about competition caches not being loggable I have to ask..........What chaches will or will not be loggable? And where will they be logged?
  3. And one of my cachesBushwacking With the Beave's Brothers was hidden in a hollow tree on the edge of a precipice. Erosion took the tree, and the cache tree was left hanging by its roots, half way down the bluff face. A month passed and another cacher found the container and created this cache:Lost by 2qwerqE and found by... thats a great story..i will remember that when we make a trip to Indiana to cache later this year..
  4. at first i enjoyed doing the locationless caches.it gave me something else to look for in the area i work in after i had done all the caches..but i have seen people i cache with just log a cache i have already logged..i took the time to check the cache logs to not relog it..but they all seem to not care..they pretty much say if it has been done then they will delete it...and if i show them my log they say oh well...it just seems to take the fun out of those caches when people abuse it...its a shame there isnt a better way for those to be logged and cared for
  5. wal mart, gpscity, and amazon all are great places..just buy what you think will cover your needs for now and in the future the first time and dont make the mistake's i did and keep upgrading and changing in the first year i currently own a geko201, yellow etrex, vista c and a 60c just sold the vista original i also had...if you can find someone who has one of what you want and play with it..try it out and make an informative decsion..lol wish i had bought the 60c first...and dont get me statrted on my pda's and that stuff
  6. i have to agree 1 unit just wont work unless you buy your gps and hand write all the info from the logs or print them"my wife did that for about a week before she bought a pda" the 3600 is fragile and doesnt seem to work as well...we use 60c's and palms with cachemate now but we use to use plucker which worked just fine..our palms both are blutooth and we have bluetooth recievers for them but it just isnt practical to use in the field
  7. i would say at least a legend and the metroguide maps...but one thing i found is that i upgraded to a unit that would do more after a short time so it ended up costing me more..go to garmin and magellans websites and read their product comparisons and see what features you feel you need then compare prices by brand etc...
  8. thanks for the info...yeah ver 5 seemed to be missing some key roads and streets and made it tough to autoroute....i think i am going to hold out just a bit longer and see if ver 7 comes out this summer..thanks for the info
  9. has anyone had the chance to use both of these...i am wondering how many street updates there are and if 6 is that much better than 5...and was wondering if anyone has heard as to whether 7 will come out this year?..thanks
  10. we are happy with ours..and as you get older the color screen sure helps to see things so much easier
  11. thanks for the info..i do use a 60c as my field gps..the pda is only for navigating to the cache site...the 60c's autorouting is some of the worst i have seen..it is wrong over 60 percent of the time..tempted to try the gpsbabel with the delorme but after reading comments on there websites forums it seems there autorouting is bad too...guess i am going tio have to leave my zire in the car with tomtom on it "tomtom is correct in autorouting over 90 percent of the time" and setup a cheap pda wih plucker or cachemate for cache info..thanks for responding and if anyone thinks of something else let me know
  12. well i am in need of picking some brains out here..i am currently using a zire 72 palm with a gps hooked to it for vehicle navigation..i use tom tom maps and it allows me to add all my caches as poi's and gives me driving directions to most caches accurately.. i love it..but the problem is when i get to a cache i want to take my palm with me which means the hassle of unplugging it,putting it back into its case etc..well i got the bright idea to buy a used pda and a wired gps and just leave the whole thing in my vehicle...well bought a good pda real cheap..got the cable gps well now i find out that tomtom wont sell me another lisc to use it on this pda..they want 149 for a new software set...i tried delorme sa2005 handheld but it wont let me import caches as poi's...is anyone else using this kind of setup? any ideas?

  14. The price for meals seems a little steep. What are some of my other options? Is there a limit to the number of people that can stay in one motel room in the state park? I could possibly bring a team from but most cannot afford their own rooms.
