I'm putting together a cache using just such a can. It's going to be a ____________ . Sorry I can't tell yet . If I tell ya I'd have to kill ya . Untill it's placed .

Sorry you have to live in the Denver metro area to understand. They do (did) a great job on some very will cammoed hides that had a lot of thought put into them. Someone didn't like it and desided to muggle all their caches. While leaving others in the area alone.

It is a real shame I don't no weather to cry or just hit something.

If I pop in and say something that moves me up a notch SOMETHING

I really like this type of kite . My only problem is the cache will draw inexperienced kite people(hopefully) and the chance of them getting tangled up do to all the strings is a drawback for me . It may be my only option depending on what the land manager tells me when we talk on monday. Fortunitly I have stayed on their good side and they are somewhat excited with my cache idea so I'd like to keep it that way and am going to run a few of the ideas from this post by them.

No such trees in this area or altitude. A 3.5' log might stand out a little with no other trees in site. I picked this spot for the lack of trees. Makes for better flying ya know.

Unfortunitly still could be misstaken for a bomb

Even if its well labeled, no pipe. Thought of gift rap but it needs to be smaller in diameter. Not a lot of cover in the area. Just some rocks and yuka no trees or bushes.

I'm working on a cache and getting a permit to place it. The land managers only problem with it so far is the container . I need something that will hold 1 or 2 kites. I thought I would use a piece of PVC 4"X3.5' cammoed and capped. They will not allow it. (understandable looks like a big pipe bomb ) Anyone have an Idea? It needs to be somewhat waterproof and NOT look so much like a bomb. Thanks.

I don't think a light bulb is a good container for a cache. Hard to open and to delicate. -
Finally got a responce from Jeffco . The person to ask all the questions on permit approval is Kathy Dewise 303-271-5981. See is very easy to talk too. I am working with her on a multi. It took some explaining and a lot of info faxed in with the permit but I think after all that they understand what it is. Just wiating on permit number know.

How about 1 approver telling us he can't approve us changing the bulb. "why not make it a multi" because the bulb is less then 528' away from the next closest bulb. -
I'm a little confused. The way the tread reads you only need one permit for all the caches placed but the info I got from Co Admin it looks like everyone who places a cache has to submit a app. The app I down loaded does not really apply to geocaching and I have not gotten any responce from Jeffco Open space yet to clarify what needs to be done. Has anyone gotten a permit that I need to add my cache too or does everyone need their own? I'm confused

I would like to know what the deffinition of a power trail is. Is it when one person places 5,10,15 or 20 along a 2,3,4 or 5 mile sretch of trail all at once or over an extended period of time? If over a 6 mounth period 3 cachers place 10 caches on the same 5 mile trail, isn't that a power trail? Can someone enlighten me?

How Has The Price Of Gas Affected Your Caching.

Yes it makes me wish their were more power trails in my area! Woops that just kinda slipped out -
OK I'm going caching on a Saturday. I could spend four or five sometimes more hunting. I could get in my car going from hide to hide parking getting out walk, find, get back in the car drive, park, walk, find, drive , park, walk ect. or go to one nice long trail and spend more time walking and finding. I choose the later. Saves Gas, Saves fighting in trafic, Gives me more exercise. I like it! Wheather or not they all are ammo cans or not. Theres nothing better than a nice long trail with a good veriety of caches.

I would like to place a cache in a jeffco open space. Has anything come of the hole permit thing.

Great Idea! I personally would use it to figure weather or not I would go the extra distance and leave the house early for a quicky before doing what I was realy in the area to do, such as work, or if it could wait till later or another day. I think it would save a lot of time when you have only a sec before you leave the house and don't have time to read all the logs and then make up your mind. I think that is what I was try to say in the previous thread.

Would you come to an Geo-Egg hunt on Easter Sunday? Also is anyone interested in helping me put together an event on Easter in the north Denrer metro area.
