  1. Yes it does thanks. It is supposed to be multi and I accidentally selected traditional. At the first stage are directions on how to find the final. And no interaction is reuired. I mean they know it is there, but you don't need to ask to find it. So now my problem is when I try to switch it to multi stage, the part where I enter the coords is greyed out so I can't enter anything. Do you know what Im doing wrong there?
  2. From the little icon on the map in the picture you've posted, the cache appears to be a traditional cache, and thus can't have stages. Did you mean to publish this as a multicache? Ah ha!! That may be it. Yes it is supposed to be a multi. Hmm but now I can't edit it.
  3. Did you try following directions? Contact Appeals, like you were told to do, if you wanted to attempt to work it out. Yes I did contact them this morning as soon as I got the denial. But the automated reply says 3-5 days for a response so I figured I could ask here in the meantime and try to figure out what I am doing wrong.
  4. As I said in my original post, the first stage is outdoors, so that's why I am not understand the "lack of gps usage".
  5. Yes I did say the first stage is outdoors, but google street view shows it also. I asked and get the response "Archiving since there doesn't appear to be any progress in bringing this Listing into compliance with the Guidelines, nor any clarification. Please contact Appeals if you wish to pursue this Listing any further." So I don't know which guideline I am not complying with. I took screenshots of the cache page since you cant see it unpublished. Is there a way to upload pics here?
  6. So I have this cache that I can't get published and I dont know why. Can anyone please help? I a tearing my hair out and about to cry. All the reviewer will tell me is that I am 'not complying with the guidelines'. He says at least part has to be outdoors... but it is! I really don't get what I am doing wrong. The final is indoors, but I got permission from Groundspeak and the reviewer knows that. The first stage *is* outdoors, so can anyone please look at my cache and tell me what I a doing wrong? Thanks! http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4CV8T_call-of-the-wild
  7. Well I obviously got them to post the cache, soooo I guess the same way? And probably the same way every other indoor cache got them? It's right by a door and window.
  8. I guess I dont understand how a GPS is not used. Is anyone going to search 100 bookcases? I dont think so. They might however look on the ONE shelf that the coords are. How is that not using GPS?
  9. So I am had a 2-step cache in a library. The first step kept getting stolen. So I inquired to Groundspeak if I could change it to a 1 step. I was advised by a representative to archive the old one and just create a new one. So I did. My local reviewer refused to approve it because it was in a building and it "didn't require a GPS component to find it" When I replied that in fact the coords I provided were for the exact shelf the cache was on, as opposed to any of the 100 other shelves in the building, he didn't care. I replied that I was in fact advised to do this by Groundspeak. Apparently he contacted them, because they wrote me a second time saying I couldn't do it anymore.... *after* they TOLD ME I COULD. There is a 1 step cache in a bookstore 12 miles from me (http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=c0c9b2c1-de53-460a-9912-54d03b8f1f0e). Can anyone explain how a cache in a bookstore is different than a cahce in a library??? Cause the only difference I see is they are premium members and I'm not. I certainly don't want to think Groundspeak discriminates against non members, but I don't see any other reason.
  10. Article in the local blog talking about a hidden door in a tree. My first thought was geocache! http://richmondsfblog.com/2013/03/11/mysterious-mini-door-found-in-golden-gate-park/
  11. I want to do a Where's Waldo theme. And I dont know what I did wrong when I click the link it takes me to the top of Waldo Alley.
  12. So I am asking people on the other side of the country hoping no one local sees my spot and snags it lol. I want to hide a cache in Waldo Alley in San Francisco. Below is a google street view link. Would anyone be willing to take a look and see if you have an ideas for clever city hides? I am rather new to this, and only have 2 hides but they are not in SF. I know I could just place a magnetic micro and be done with it, but would rather have something more clever and if possible a little bigger. Ideas? Thank you!! http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&safe=off&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.r_qf.&bvm=bv.41524429,d.cGE&biw=1280&bih=620&q=sf&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x80859a6d00690021:0x4a501367f076adff,San+Francisco,+CA&gl=us&sa=X&ei=WA4EUd6sJIXriwK_soDYBQ&ved=0CIQBELYD
  13. omg thank you soooo much A-Team!!! I finally figured it out and the coordinates are correct! Thank you thank you!!
  14. Yes I have triple checked my GPS, it keeps giving those coordinates. Thank you A-Team, I did PM you.
  15. Im tying to post a cache I placed. I got a reading from my GPS. But when I enter the coordinates, the map shows its like a mile away! I tried to reverse it and get coordinates in google by entering the address, but when I put those coordinate in, the map shows its 2 blocks away! What am I doing wrong?
  16. We will be driving from the SF Bay area to Monterey and would like to know if there are any great must-do caches along the way. (Highway 1 or 101) I am partially disabled, so they can't be too hard to get to, and we're both beginners, so not too hard to find. We especially love caches that have little goodies to trade. We're stocked up on trinkets to trade. Thanks if you have any recommendations!!
  17. So usually I click on the show map button, or the map itself to get a general idea of where to drive to before i actually start looking. But for the last 2 days it has been not showing up. Any ideas how I can fix this? I did try clearing my cache.
  18. Thank you! That worked. 2 of the log books had no recent entries but one did. All 4 were from the same person though, so I guess they just havent had a chance yet. Thanks again
  19. I went out caching today and picked up 4 different TB's from 3 different caches. I got home and NONE of the TB's are listed as being in those caches. How do I find out who owns them to register that I have them before passing them on?
  20. I posted this in the equipment catagory and got no responses, hoping you all can help me. My mom wants to get a GPS unit for her car. Specifically the TomTom GO510. She wants it mostly for camping/road trips, but also for geocaching. She wants one that will also have Canadian roads, and 'talks'. Is this a good one for her to get, or can you recommend a better one in the same price range? Thanks!

  22. oh yeah, I know who has it. I wanted to see the last cache it was in to know how far 'off track' it is. But the last cache is a members only one so I can't view it.
