  1. Re-check you cordinates. Make sure your GPSr datum is set to WGS84 and not NAD27.
  2. This brings up an interesting idea. Maybe a hider should put the GPSr brand and model they used to place the cache. That way, we could all complain about the Etrex users. This weekend I had two finds from the same hider. On one, my GPSr showed 1 ft. On the other it showed 20 ft. On the other two finds of the day my Sportrak showed <10 ft. (under trees, in the rain )
  3. Thank you for the replys. Just never saw it mentioned before.. Thanks for clearing that up.
  4. Just wondering what the rules are concerning placing music cd and movie dvd burns in a cache.
  5. Dang, I was going to put a sleeve of new Titleist Pro V1s in my first cache. But I guess people are tired of finding them.
  6. It would be fun to have the coordinates of that spring. The next time I go down the Niobrara, I am bringing my gpsr to mark coordinates of some of the waterfalls on the river. There are quite a few cool ones that you can't see from the river.
  7. Here is a link to some of the outfitters: Link I know a couple of them offer kayak rental. I live in Northeast Nebraska. We go down the Niobrara a couple of times a year. I am looking forward to finding some of the caches in the area next time we go up. I have never been on the Dismal, but would love to try it. Did you find the springs on the Dismal that you can float in like a cork?
  8. How far away from Valentine do you live? There are some outfitters up there you can rent a couple of different brands (I know I have seen Old Town) of kayaks from and test them out on the scenic Niobrara River. I think there are a couple of caches on the river also. The Dismal River may not be far from you either, but is a little more challenging.
  9. I lost the link to building your own pc data cable for a Magellan Sportrak. Does anyone have a link? Thanks.
  10. My first GPSr (Sportrak Map) is sitting at my office waiting to go under the tree. I'm having a hard time resisting the urge to initialize it and mark "HOME" while my wife and kids are at school.
