  1. Here is a link someone on this forum gave me. It should help. http://www.tageo.com/index.htm
  2. For example - I recently retrieved a TB in Nevada whose goal was to see trains. I took the TB on a road trip with me and took a picture of it with the world's largest steam locomotive in Cheyenne, WY. I then dropped it off in a cache in Cheyenne. Other than sending the pictures to the owner, how would I post the pictures on the TB web page - not the cache page where I dropped him off, but the actual TB web page?
  3. Same goes for me. I'm looking to get the MapSend Streets Europe and would like to know who and who not to go to.
  4. Hey Marky, My offer still stands - you have our address if you ever want to visit the small towns JimmyReno and I have been trading emails but haven't connected yet. Hope to in about two weeks when I get back from the road trip. See that SAP outbid Oracle this morning.
  5. <Warning - Thread drift > Spyder8 - why Spyder8? I'm Spyder13. I drive a Spyder (see my avatar) and was married on a Friday the 13th many years ago. <End of thread drift>
  6. Two as of today (California and Nevada) but hopfully five by the end of next week. We are taking a road trip from Nevada to Omaha, Nebraska. Hope to find at least one each in Utah, Wyoming and Nebraska - specifically Salt Lake City, Cheyenne and Omaha areas.
  7. Thought Blaricom looked strange in my address book. Took a second closer look and sure enough my scribbled U definitely resembles an O. Guess I need to take handwriting 101 again But another problem arises. I used the coordinates for Blaricum and the pocket query shows caches in the UK. Decided to use the coordinates for Amsterdam since I know there is at least one cache there. It also gave me the UK. Must be doing something wrong. Here is what I used for Amsterdam: Amsterdam Coordinates UTM : FU30 Geographical coordinates in decimal degrees (WGS84) Latitude : 52.350 Longitude : 4.917 This is from my pocket query: Decimal Degrees N 52.350000 W 004.917000 The results only show four caches - all in the UK - definitely not within the 30 miles radius I requested Any clues as to what I might be doing incorrectly?
  8. We are going to the Netherlands in May. I'd like to find the coordinates for the cities of Alkmaar and Blaricom so I can do a pocket query for caches in those areas. Is there a web site somewhere where you can enter a city name and get the coordinates?
  9. Started to look at the Ultimate GPS Case. Found it for $10.45 at ChartedWaters Marine Store via Yahoo Shopping. With shipping it was less than $18.00 - but I was reminded by my financial advisor of thirty plus years (wife) that I have two perfectly good "butt bags" that could be used for the short urban caches
  10. I'm using a High Sierra hydropack that Costco had for $20. Holds everything except the hiking stick.
  11. Thanks for the responses. I'm tending to shy away from belt packs - at lease the clip on type. Found that during bushwhacking I've snagged my phone a few times. I'm using a High Sierra hydration pack that expands. There is one pocket that just fits the Magellan. Just means that I have to take the pack off to remove and replace the GPSr. No biggie, just wondered how others did it.
  12. Thanks for the replies. I'm just a paranoid newbie who didn't want in incur the wrath of the GeoGods
  13. ...to track one's finds? What I'd like to do is activate a new TB but backdate the activation to the date of my first find. I would then place and retrieve the TB on each cache I've found - using the original find date. This TB would be strictly for my personal use to track milage and finds. Is it OK to do this?
  14. For those of you that use the Magellan Meridian Platinum - how do you carry it? Mine is either in my hand or in my backpack. Is there any convenient "handless" method? I see some people with their GPSr hung around their neck but I don't see anyway I could do that with the Magellan Meridian Platinum since there are no holes for any sort of lanyard. Any suggestions?
  15. Thanks for all the replies. The reason for my original post was, like someone mentioned, I felt like I'd be somewhat out of place going through bushes in the middle of a busy parking lot. My first thought was the light pole but the base seemed to be solid and not movable. So the next choice was the bushes. Wondered how others tackled that situation. Just happend to go back today since I needed something at the hardware store that was in that lot. I parked right next to the island and took another try at the light pole base. Took a little twisting and pulling but it did come loose and guess what was under it? Yep - the canister. Now my count is up to a whopping 16 Since I'm in Nevada I'm looking forward to some of the traditional ones out in the desert and up in the hills. Just practicing on the local ones first.
  16. New to the game. Yesterday went to find a local cache. It is a micro (35mm canister) hidden in an "island" in a busy parking lot. Too busy to start crawling around without looking suspicious. The "island" had a light pole in the middle. Around the light pole were about six to eight bushes and outside that were a few feet of standard six to eight inch landscaping rocks. Wasn't too keen about rummaging through bushes and moving loose rocks in a busy parking lot How does one look for a cache like that without looking like you are rearranging the landscaping Any clues from the more experienced?
