  1. You've all gone totally potty! Alibags .... marmite and honey sandwiches!?? That's what you feed your friends! Ain't coming around your house for lunch then!!! How about marmite, honey and calling cards in a bap?
  2. Hey gal! You go with what is your first instinct! After having spent pretty much a whole day on the forums seeing stuff being bandied about (as have you!), I would say don't post a poser on here (heck it has been pretty depressing!), just do it! FTF's - usually bagged by a local anyway. Personally speaking, have never left a special gift/prize for a FTF but have considered it many times. It's a lovely touch.
  3. Absolutely hate twiglets .... oh will u look at that. Just reached 100 posts! Wahey!
  4. Well you kept that one quiet! Well done guys and was so good to see you again at the bash. Happy Caching!
  5. Now there's a brilliant plan! Planning a trip over that way right now ... was wondering where to head for tomorrow, LOL. Ahhhh Lester - you've opened the floodgates
  6. Well said Haggis Hunter. Enough of this moaning people! Let's just enjoy ourselves. Oh and I hate Marmite, so I don't smell. I have three pairs of kids shoes in the garage which need disinfecting cos they are covered in dog poo picked up whilst out caching - now they certainly do stink! Yuck. Liane, The Cache Hoppers
  7. This one from a now archived cache - Tithe Barn GCFE7A. Jon of the Dewdrops and MarcoXono out together on a caching expedition ... 2nd of 7 with MarcoXono today. Came here from The Chapel at No.38, a short and pleasant walk away. We approached the area to be confronted by the ol' cacher's nightmare... dog walkers! We pretended to be bird watchers, nature lovers or whatever. Chose the moment and dived into the bushes... gad this sounds awful 0945 hrs - located after a brief search of the area. TNLNSL. The log is full. We procrastinated on the way out, as there were now even more people hanging around! Eventually we walked out boldly as possible, only to be observed by an elderly chap who must have wondered what on earth we were doing in the bushes... On the way to the next cache we came across 'five tasty cookies' - what a pleasant family they were too... PS. I have a feeling I am going to regret this log TFTC - excellent. Jon
  8. Yippeeeeeeeee! Wahey! Well done Andy. Chasing the No 1 spot again?
  9. Everyone should carry a golf ball at all times just in case they come across a UFO. S'true ... ".... If the sighting is from a distance, at an arms length, what would it take to cover up the object? A quarter? A penny? A dime? An aspirin? Or would it take something bigger? A golf ball? A baseball? Or a tennis ball?" EXTRACTED FROM 10 Things You Should Do If You Encounter A UFO
  10. Congratulations Paul from The Cache Hoppers
  11. Calling cards - we love them! Put as many as you like in our caches guys you won't hear any grumbles from us. Making our calling cards is part of our caching experience and we like rifling through other people's in caches we visit - we don't tend to read back through logbooks, takes too long. When we see the cards we know instantly who has been there. Ones left in our caches we consider to be our souvenirs and will pick them up on maintenance visits. We tend to tidy up cards in caches and put them altogether. Some like cards, some don't, so what? We don't like stamps in logbooks, but again, so what? It would be a bit boring if we all did the same thing all the time. Must dash, got some cards to laminate!
  12. Yup, many thanks to all concerned for your hard work. Much appreciated.
  13. Well I saw Dorsetgal and her dog! But I couldn't figure out how to save the picture! Hope someone managed it. Liane
  14. How about most distance travelled for cache events in one weekend? The Cache Hoppers went from Berks to Cumbria for the Go Ape in Grizedale cache event on Saturday 20 August and then rushed down to Bucks on Sunday 21 August for Bucks Caching Summer Bash No 3 and then back home to Berks same day! Haven't worked out the exact mileage, but bet it takes some beating!!
  15. Santa got me a laminator from Argos, £20'ish. Tesco do packs of A4 laminating pouches for less than a fiver. Paper trimmer from Argos about £15 - job done. Stuff as many things as possible in an A4 pouch and trim them to size. Calling cards, cache notes, etc.
  16. Cheers Bob ... have added them to my watchlist. All other cachers, keep off! LOL
  17. Just done a trigpoint .... our second and so we were quite excited to be able to log it .... NOT! What's happening??
  18. Brilliant idea! Where's the best place to get them?
  19. Well done Daisy and Dick on reaching your 800th cache! Must warrant a generous size box of Winalot.
  20. The Phillimore Clan banned! I don't believe it They are far too nice to do anything to warrant being banned - shocked, totally shocked
