I went to Martha’s Vineyard just before the 4th of July (stayed from June 29 to July 3). Obviously a peak tourist season. I also brought over my car by ferry. It is not as crowded as I thought. During the day all popular spots, especially in downtown areas, are crowded. So during these peak times, I went to other parts of the island and often found myself alone with a occasional people walking or biking past. Whenever I want to go to downtown, it might be a search for some parking. The further you go away from the center, the better parking is as long you don’t mind some extra walking. My only issue while geocaching is finding an access to trailhead or starting point to hike for some caches. Several location has private only signs. If I decided to come back, i would bring or rent a bike where I feel can receive better access by bike instead of driving around looking for vehicle access for some caches. Overall it is very doable to go, even during peak season, with a car and a bit of patience.

Hi ... I'm going to be at Martha's Vineyard for 4 nights in the beginning of July. I am bringing my car over by ferry. I was wondering for those who has done caching at Martha's Vineyard, should I drive around the island by car or use bike? Is parking doable at locations where the caches are? I want to get an idea of what to expect at the Island. Thanks!

Hi. I joined geocache last July and really enjoyed it. I’ve enjoyed almost every types that they offer until today, Adventure Lab. I’m aware of Labs when joining last summer, but it didn’t show up on my app, so I have no interest going after them. Then we all got an update to include them on the map which made my interest go back up for it. So, at first I liked the idea of Adventure Lab and I decided to do one today and completed it. But then I checked my statistic and was surprised to see a big jump, I didn’t realize the recent Adventure Lab I’ve done counts as 5 finds! That kind of diminishes the authenticity of all finds from caches shown on the map. I treated this Adventure Lab as a Multi Virtual just the same as Multi Caches. I also wishes it counts as one find. I remember when I did my first Multi, I was at first disappointed that I only got 1 find. But after a while I’ve grown to appreciate a Multi where I need to go thru several obstacles to make the final find. I just felt that should be treated just as the same as AL as every other caches. So I’ve decided to remove it from my count list and ignore all AL. No big deal, there’s plenty of other caches to find!
