Ok Klatch, I went into the info section of the map page and pressed the menu button. It gave me the option to turn off or hide the base map. When I do either of those options the accuracy circle is much much smaller. Maybe not quite 9 feet, but certainly nowhere near 500 feet. Where can I get a map that will be more detailed so that the accuracy circle is more accurate? Any suggestions? I use my gps specifically for geocaching, mountain biking, and hiking. Thanks!

Hey there, I just got an Etrex Vista HCx and I've noticed that the accuracy circle never gets any smaller than several hundred feet in diameter. The satellite page says my accuracy is +/- 9 feet, but the map shows this super large circle. My old Etrex Legend has an accuracy circle that appears to reflect the true satellite accuracy. So is my new GPS broken somehow? How do you get the accuracy circle to reflect the +/- 9 feet like the satellite page says it should be? Thanks, -Dozer-

Could anyone tell me the oldest not found in Georgia?

Is there a way to create waypoint groups? This would be to hide/display geocache waypoints. I was hoping to be able to choose to display geocaches only when I am geocaching. BTW, I own an Etrex Legend.

Thanks for all the help everyone! I just got back from wal-mart again. I was just going to look in the computer software section when I saw a computer that was logged into walmart.com. So I searched the "etrex legend" and then asked a manager over to see it. He said he'd match the price if it was the same product. So to make a long story short, I bought the etrex legend at a heck of a discount! Here is what I payed... $138.82 ----- Etrex legend $8.33 ----- tax minus $14.71 for 10% dicount (a friend of mine is an employee) minus $7.96 (for an old gift card I found) minus $10 (sold a home depot gift card to a friend today) Grand total.... $114.48

None of the walmart stores around here will honor the online price with the etrex legend. They told me if I wanted the unit at the online price to order it online.

I don't plan on covering a ton of ground in one day of caching. However, I also want to use the unit to take trips to florida, north georgia, and other places. The maps don't have to be super detailed street maps in most cases. I don't have a problem looking the coordinates of my destination up on terraserver then entering them in the unit.

Could someone please tell me what is possible with 8mb of map memory on the legend? What maps other than the basemap would you want to upload to your gps, and for what reason?

What is routing and auto-routing? I seem to be on the fence between the Sport trak Map and the Blue Legend. I assume the price is about the same... What would be the deciding factor if you guys had to choose between these two? I'm still open to other GPS suggestions as well though.

Would the legend work ok if it were verticaly mounted on my dash while driving?

Hi, I've been scanning the forums for about a month now and I believe I'm ready to take the plunge into geocaching. Which gps units with the map are you guys happy using? I would like to stay as cheap as possible due to a tight budget. I like the looks of the Magellan Sport Track... any idea of where to buy them?

I'm an EMT-I here in georgia, but I haven't been hired by anyone yet. I am currently saving upto buy a GPS unit so that I can begin my first hunt.
