I shopped around and got 64mb and Mapsend Topo for $105 total at www.amazon.com. I can't imagine needing any more memory than that. I have most of California and all my fishin spots out in the Channel Islands. Oh, and burnin cd's and passing them along is a little south of legal. A backpack and some shorts with cargo pockets should be more than sufficient. I keep a first aid kit, extra batteries, cache "gifts" etc in there at all times. Any belief worth having must survive doubt.

Does anyone know if other types of memory will work in the Meridian? Amazon has Viking Securedigital SD64MB memory for cheap. thanks

I also just got a new Meridian at Fry's at the killer deal of $99. I had an old carry case for a personal cd-player and it fits perfect. Stap and belt loop and all.

You guys a freakin crazy........I;m going to use whatever code came with my unit because it works just fine....."If it works, dont fix it" You start screwing around with the hardware and then reliability goes out the window.

I just got my second unit. I had a Magellan 4000xl for the last three years and have been shopping around for quite some time to upgrade but didn't want to spend too much. I use it quite a bit for geocaching, hiking, and fishing. I just picked up a Magellan Meridian for $99 brand new. It has every feature I was looking for, WAAS, mapping, floats, highly sensitive antenna, I pick up 3 sats sitting in my living room. My older unit didn't get any indoors. Came with data cable, got the power cable for $22. For $125 bucks I have all I need. Just an FYI....

I need a Dodge Viper. I don't have that much money but I really could use the car. If somebody out there has an extra Viper sitting in their garage I would be happy to take it from you. Thanks,
