  1. HHH, So I think I was doing it right by mistake. I was loading 500 at a time onto my Colorado 300 SD card throgh my computer. They were all showing up. I had to go through less hassele with the 300 as the mass storage show up on my computer. Good video. Keiger
  2. Wow- thats a loaded question. Night and Day. GSAK allows you to see everything included in the GPX - hints, description, owner, terrain, difficlty, logs etc. You can then sort by anyof those criteria. Slice and dice the data a thousand different ways. By owner, rating, last found date, last DNF etc.... transform the data into many differtn formats, map points, load stuff to and from your GPS unit ---> Very powerful software. So is it worth the price of Adminsion, for a newbe trying out the fun of Geocaching? And you need to be a full time primeum member with Geocaching to run the PQ which lets you down load the gpx files, with any of the programs, right? LOL, I need to pull out my GPS I am LOST. Thanks again Keiger. Yes -you need to be a PM to take advantage of PQs and GPX files but that is just $2.50 per month (paid $30 yearly). GSAK takes a bit to learn to get the most out of it but well worth the purchase price. 2.50 per month, hummmm, since I don't do Starbucks I could probley afford it then. I will probley give Gsak a try.
  3. You can have up to 39 PQs defined - many of them can be duplicates. Each PQ can only be run once every 24 hours. The only PQ restricted to weekly is the special "my finds" PQ. And you do not even have to save the PQ - set it up run it get your data and it can be gone. Setup a new one for a new area tomorrow. Repeat for up to 5 per day. Now I got it. Thanks
  4. Will the PQ let you do that? I thought it said once a week up loads.
  5. So I have been down loading 500 at a time for different areas that I travel through out the seasons, is there still a 2000 limit for the unit or will the card hold more?

  7. What is the main difference between GSAK and EasyGPS?
  8. But what if you want to just load 10 out of the 500? How do you go about loading it stright into the gpx file?
  9. So know what am I doing wrong I got it to work once after Wrastro told me about the e-mail, but know I get nothing to down load to the GPS through the easy gps. HELP
  10. You need to actually generate the PQ and have it emailed to you. Then you can load all of the caches at once. You the Cacher WRASTRO. That was the trick. Thanks Keiger
  11. Sorry I was not telling it right. I am in the PQ and going through the list of 500 and when I click on a certain cache I can up load it in to the gpx folder can you do more then one at a time?
  12. I hate to say it but I hauled my Magellen 600 after jacking around with it for 2.5 years back to Sams Club and got a full refund. Turned around and bought a Garmin Colorado 300. Best thing I done.
  13. So I got it figured out how to get all the info saved over to the GPS using the GPS eXchange and save into the gpx folder in my Colorado. But can you load more then one this way? I have been loading them one at a time. I have EasyGPS and it will load more then one but not as a gpx format and I dont get all the info for the caches. Thanks Keiger
  14. Ok so last week I found TBGPE7 but left it. I just didnt know what to do with it, but know I do after reading up on them. So here is my question. I did not get the TB tag no.l and that is the one I need to have just to log it that I found it, right? What do I do to get the tag no. or do I have to go back up there and write it down. Thanks Keiger
  15. Thanks for that site link, I now got it figured out on the PQ. Great info. Keig
  16. Very cool now I know and will start picking up TB's. Thanks Keig
  17. Well I got it figured out. The Colorado has a GPX folder in it and when you save from the GPX eXchange file you need to save into the GPX folder in the Colorado unit. Now I get all the info. Now is there a way to up load more then one at a time? Thanks for the help. Keig
  18. How are you downloading the caches to the GPS? Are you only missing the hints, or are you only getting the name and coordinates? Do you know if you are downloading .LOC or .GPX files? You want .GPX. I am just getting the name and coordinates and no hints. I did try the .gpx files after getting the free trial but still no hints
  19. But what about when your out and don't even know that there is a TB in the Cache. Did I do the right thing and leave it? I found out about it after I got home. The bummer is my daughter lives in New York and could have taken him there.
  20. I downloaded abunch of Caches in the area we were going to be in. So we were out messing around and found TBGPE7 (travel bug for dummies). How do you know what to do with them? I didn't see any instructions and didn't want to mess up the process if there were certain places it was suppose to go.
  21. So with my new Colorado 300 I got a 1 month free membership. So down loading the caches to the GPS I am not able to get the hints, am I doing something wrong?
  22. What "300" are you talking about? Garmin has a number of units with a 300 designation (Nuvi 300, Oregon 300, etc.)? Sorry, Colorado 300. I am after them for on the computer, the 24k from Garmin are for the GPS only, right? Thanks and I will check out the links. Keiger
  23. Were marking some trails and mapping them but not inpressed with Garmins DVD Topo US 2008. Is there any other computer software that will work better and get you a better scale then 1:100,000? Thanks Keiger
  24. Trying to down load the Cords on to my Magellen 600 Exploris, but not haveing any luck getting them to my hard drive. Is there and easy way. I have loaded all the soft ware from my unit. Thanks Keig
