  1. Tortoise & Hare is a relatively popular cache that people enjoy solving. I'd rather not disable it Unfortunately, I am moving over 1,000 miles away (new job in Chicago!) and need someone to take over my cache. This person should enjoy puzzle caches!! Please send me an email at phlairy@gmail.com if you would like to be the new owner. Thanks!! Roberta/Flairness
  2. Actually, through some research on the Cruise Critic website, I found that Verizon has a "global solutions" package for $64.99 a month, and they will pro-rate it. So I will have unlimited internet in any country that has CDMA technology for about $11 for my cruise. No more worrying about how I am going to pull up google maps! If you ever encounter this, all you have to do is call Verizon and ask for an International Specialist, or if the Customer Service Agent is knowledgeable enough, tell them you want the GlobalEmail / Global Solutions package, and let them know the dates that you'll need it.
  3. I'll be going on a cruise at the end of October and want to get some geocaches in each port, but I'm trying to hammer out how I'm going to accomplish that without a traditional GPSr. I use my Droid for geocaching currently, but I'm not sure about these questions: First, does the GPS work when in airplane mode? I've tried to test it myself but have gotten inconclusive results. Second, while I can manually type in the coordinates into a compass app, most compass apps use Google Maps for the display (not sure if Google Maps is integral to GPS or not..). Is there any way to store maps offline so that the compass uses them and doesn't time out with an error of not retrieving data? Any other suggestions on how to make this work would be wonderful. Thanks so much!
  4. I've been geocaching for a few months, but I still find myself saying "wait, what was that attribute again?" when looking at the cache page. By habit, I attempt to hover my mouse over the attribute image, waiting for the alt-text to show up and let me know what that attribute means. Unfortunately, the alt-text never shows up and I have to navigate to the attributes page and hunt down the exact icon I'm trying to find out. I think it'd be a great feature to have this. For an example, hover your mouse over the Geocaching logo in the top left corner of any geocaching.com webpage. The hover-text says "Geocaching.com". Or try to hover over the Lost & Found image on the front page. It says "Groundspeak's Lost & Found." Thanks for considering this!
  5. Hi John, Mind sharing what you found? I have a droid and would love to do Wherigo while I'm out caching.
