  1. Not only in Japan and with a prettier package: http://www.memorymedallion.com/
  2. *waves* That's where I am. If you need any help let me know! Almost my entire family caches.
  3. I did a happy dance in the woods when I found my first cache and got a new pair of shoes all scratched up. I've since gotten most of my family hooked on it, even my 3 yr old nephew asks me if we're going geocaching when he gets in my car.
  4. Ahhh Pennsylvania's technically a mid Atlantic state. Depends on where you're standing
  5. So EasyGPS won't help me much if I can't download coords directly to my GPS? I do have a Palm Pilot, but no connection from my PC to my GPS.
  6. When caching with my nephew (TheLittleRedheadedCacher, who just turned 3) we have no problem removing old beat up cars and trucks and trading them for something else as that's one of the things he LOVES to find in caches. He's going to play with them in the dirt, throw them in the back of his dump truck and cover them with dirt, wrestle the dog for them and do who knows what else to them. (Thankfully none have gone in the toilet yet!) He usually picks something out worthy of trading too. If he doesn't I just add something else. We don't of course put them back into cycle again but just be aware what you may consider "junk" may look highly ideal to someone else. Please don't judge based on age of cachers, children I'm pretty sure are not alone when caching. As for geocaching being an "adult" sport that would kind of negate the family friendliness of it, would it not? The hunt and the hike are what I enjoy most. While curiousity often has me looking through the swag and trading (although I often trade with the kids in mind) sometimes even when no children are with me it's not what gets me out there. I think the "treasure" is more of an appeal to the children, especially the younger set. I could be wrong, but of course this only an opinion, not a fact.
  7. I don't often see other cachers along the trail. It's only happened once and it was pretty obvious at that point. Today my family was having a picnic near where we have a cache hidden. Someone was out and about walking and my dad asked if he was a geocacher. The guy said "No, my name isn't geocacher." So sometimes just asking will work.
  8. Except my county gets in your way.
  9. Congrats Lep!!! One of the things I've enjoyed most along the way is slowly introducing my family to caching. My sister's boyfriend's first real introduction to me was when he ended up joining us for caching one day.
  10. A professor asked us if we had heard of it. One of his friends I think mentioned it to him. Anyway, I finally remembered to look it up, thought it sounded great and immediately started trying to figure out how I was going to get a GPS. I couldn't wait until Christmas so I ran out and bought one. I was hooked on my first find. I don't always do the happy dance when I find one now, though.
  11. Congratulations!!! Great pictures of the great event!
  12. Neat. I wish that had been going on when I was visiting out that way.
  13. It's on my "To Do" Bookmark list!
  14. That's interesting. Any plans on it moving further south?
  15. Yes thank you! I'll be traveling the turnpike today!
  16. Thank you! I did do a search and found some caches.
  17. Hello! I'm heading out your way at the end of July to visit a friend and wanted to get some caching in. I'd also like to try and meet up with any available cachers in the area.
