Just got my new GPS. Downloaded a waypoint to EasyGPS. Clicked on "send waypoint to GPS". and I keep getting error! When I plugged in GPS to PC, no "new hardware detected" came up, but it is powering my GPS. Any ideas what's wrong here?

Thanks for the info--very interesting. I checked out the pretec SDIO. The only thing is it doesnt seem very practical for hiking/backpacking. Thanks again.

What is cache mate? I have the Treo 600--can I actually convert this thing to a portable GPS unit without a bunhc of cables?

I bought the Garmin Legend for my first GPS. So I finally get to the point where I am ready to downlaod a waypoint and...huh?...The cable it came with is some COM connector that doesn't even connect to my Compaq Presario 700. Why don't all the GPS' use UBS?? And why would Garmin include a female COM connector--my computer is also a female!! I am pretty ignorant about computers and technology so forgive me. Should I return this Garmin and get something better? I am willing to pay a little more. Or is there another way to connect this thing to my computer? I also don't care for the left-handed controls of this unit. Thanks for some advice. Kyle

New to the site and I was looking at caches in my area and I can't make sense of the description of caches. Where can I get an explanation of what all those numbers, icons, 1.4mi, etc means?? Thanks! CacheNow
