  1. Not exactly the most imaginative or artistic coin I've seen. In fact, It's plain awful ! I'll be keeping hold of my money on this one.
  2. Will there be a limited number minted and if so how many ? Nice design BTW.
  3. Brillant, Thanks again. As you see it works really well.
  4. Genius !! Many thanks for this. Now it works I see the problem with the route colours all being the same, when you edit them and then refresh, they all go back to yellow !
  5. What KML link ? I sort of got it working by clicking on "view in Google Earth" then saving the KML file to PC and using this as the network link. However, if I then delete the file from the PC it stops working. Do I need to keep all the KML files somewhere on the PC or will this just result in the data not being updated when the TB moves ? I would have thought you needed to put a URL in the network link box but I couldn't see a URL of the KML. Am I being thick ? I am now struggling to do something that I didn't even know I wanted to do a few hours ago !!
  6. Fantastic news both for you and for all UK cachers. Common sense has prevailed.
  7. Ooooh, I really like that one Find me a doorbell quick, I'm off to the woods !
  8. I had the same idea a few weeks back, even bought a keyfinder to use but it wouldn't work. Still think it's a great idea and if I find another keyfinder ill have a go.
  9. You said you'd try and try you did so I see no problems there at all. Similarly, the bug was at the cache, even if only momentarily so a drop and regrab is fine too. I've done this on several occasions, even dropping them into virtual caches that they were at with me before picking them back up and leaving them somewhere else (one wanted to see the sights of ireland so I took it around with me for a week before dropping it off) . I only found micros and webcams on a trip to Amsterdam so some bugs I took with me came back again. I'm sure the owners will not mind.
  10. Update : We have visited this cache today and rescued the coin. The cache was indeed concealed within a dry stone wall so we removed it and re - hid it about 150 ft away. I have emailed the cache owner, Dr Scotland and Lactodorum today with the new coordinates and description of the hiding place to enable the listing to be changed. Regards Paul
  11. We've met four in 340 finds in just under 2 years so you have been unlucky !!
  12. Visiting Scarborough on Sunday to replace one of my caches so might try and grab this while we are in the area. I'll check the logs on saturday to see if it is still there and if it is I'll remove the whole box and use it for a new cache at some point. Geocoin would be released within a couple of days. Paul.
  13. I have often found in the past that cover disk programs can be downloaded for free anyway. It may be worth checking if there is anything specific that people are considering buying this magazine to get. That said, if there is something special on this disk that cannot be got for free and is worth having please let us know.
  14. I completely agree with Pieman. I've used those sachets in my camera bag before to help prevent the camera siezing up in when not in use if I've been out in the rain with it, but thats about all they are good for. Out in the wild they would be saturated within a couple of damp days and even in a well sealed cache they would be no good once it got opened in the rain. Worse still I believe that the dye they used to add to silica gel is toxic. We used to use a lot of it at work and had to change suppliers to a colourless type recently for Health and Safety reasons.
  15. Good point HH, I got speaking to a guy in the US whilst on holiday last year and he told me he hired a car in the UK and left it at the hotel all week as he was terrified of the narrow, windy roads, roundabouts and manual gearbox. Such a shame. So, do make sure you know what type of gearbox you are getting if this could be an issue and yes, 99% of British cars do have the 12 v cigarette lighter style power supply you need. Hope you have a nice time over here and get to find plenty of caches.
  16. Nice one mate 4 figures by the end of the year ???
  17. Not gloating......Oh well, just a bit. We have had a run of very helpful US cachers in the last couple of weeks who have moved our bug around quite a bit. Still, anything could happen in the next 9 days.
  18. Nice one Robin, what an amazing achievement. How long can you keep it up, I wonder. Yorkshire is a big place and there are new caches every week. Time for to get the tuppaware out and hide some more to keep you busy Is this the first claim to a cacher clearing an entire county ?
  19. I think it is for photographic rectification. I've seen them used by archaeologists when photographing sites, they allow a non vertical photo to be stretched on a PC so that maps and plans can be drawn from it.
  20. 50 ... Paul Do we get a congratulations thread for the 100th Visitor ? I'm guessing at 186
  21. Two More coins safely released in Yorkshire this week: Here and Here The offer is still open to place any of your activated coins here in the UK. Just email me via my profile for my address.
  22. Great news. I was one of the original submitters to this site and had a look back a few weeks ago. I was amazed how much it has changed since this time last year with all the new features and how many photos there are on it now. Keep up the good work and I hope things go from strength to strength.
  23. "I think we're alone now, there doesn't seem to be any one around. I think we're alone now, Quick - open up the cache and see what we've found"
