  1. Two good caches for TBs in central London are http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...ac-fc460fc5aa46 in Regents Park and http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...bd-88a375b07839 near St Pauls. Both are very popular, traditional caches which make a nice change from all the Micros you will find on your travels. The tube is OK for getting from A to B but not fantastic for caching in the city centre as you'll spend ages getting on and off (and waiting for a signal when you exit !) and it really is often quicker to walk. I agree with others, take a walk and cache while you sight see. You'll have a far better day. If you have trouble getting a signal in the city (we did) head out to one of the parks, we had a great day around Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens in January. Enjoy.
  2. This one too has been waiting to leave the UK for Canada for a long time http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?id=138240
  3. We are also not meeting the Queen on that date !! What a coincidence.
  4. The same thing happend to one of my bugs. I emailed the guy a couple of times and offered to pay postage for him to send it back to me but he hasn't replied. You could try naming him in his local forum and see if anyone knows who he is and can have a word for you. I have seen this work before. Good luck.
  5. Looks like we're not going to make it two wins in a row then.
  6. We got ours too, Very nice indeed, well worth the wait.
  7. The Queen owns huge amounts of land in the UK. Will you be asking permission for setting caches on it ? Wonder if she'd let you do a magnetic on Buckingham Palace gates !!! Have fun. Paul
  8. We've found 400+ caches using a Garmin Geko 201, no mapping but nice and cheap for a beginner. They are selling them for £80 at Aldi this Thursday I think (see previous posting on this forum a few days ago). Always been very happy with it and recommended it to friends who are happy too. Good luck. Paul
  9. http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...10-33f1750348b1 is on an island on windermere, I've not done it so can't comment on how good a cache it is an the last person to try posted a DNF but it's a lot closer to you than the south coast. Good luck. Paul & Ros
  10. We'll take East Yorkshire if it is still available.
  11. Wow ! I got my coins today and was amazed at how gorgeous they were. Many Thanks...
  12. Order sent, these look even nicer than the last ones !!
  13. Congratulations from one Geocaching couple to another. Will the wedding be an event cache ? All the best Paul & Ros
  14. Got mine today Even nicer than I expected, Many congratulations on your design.
  15. I can see the log now "Took BMW, nappies, wine and trainers, Left Nothing !"
  16. Awwwwwhhhhhhh aint that lovely.....makes you feel all warm and fuzzy..
  17. Can we stop now ? Well, you could always TRY to stop now I'll give you two weeks maximum before the irresistable urge sets in and once you get to 51, well that's more than half way to 100 isn't it !!
  18. I have used a Garmin Geko 201 for over 2 years and found it very reliable and almost unbreakable. Cost around £60 from the US, UK price is much higher. Will connect to PC if you buy a cable for transferring up to 500 waypoints. The slightly cheaper 101 will not connect to a PC. Good Luck Paul
  19. I have just run into my first 7 digit waypoint problem. There are two new caches in Kensington Gardens, London, with 7 digit waypoints and consecutive waypoint IDs. I use Fugawi UK / Plucker on my palm and these both handle the 7 digits OK but the export of waypoints from Fugawi to my Garmin Geko 201 results in only one of the caches transferring across. I only realised when I looked at the Fugawi map and GPS together in the field and saw one of the waypoints was missing. Luckily I managed to enter the missing waypoint by hand using the info from plucker Is there an "easy" way of automatically stripping the "c" from the waypoint names in the Loc file before importing into Fugawi or once in fugawi before export to the GPS ? This would reduce them back to 6 digits. This problem will only get worse as time goes on and manually renaming all the new waypoints will not be viable. Any ideas ? Paul
  20. Got mine today, It wants to go someplace called Kinel in Russia. The Nearest Cache is 164 miles away and there are only 10 caches within 500 miles. I have a sneaky suspicion that this particular bug will never achieve its goal but I'll release it soon, at least it will travel somewhere.
  21. Nice one DRC, we got 8 months head start on you and you still got to 400 before us. Well done. Paul & Ros
  22. A fantastic achievement, and so many miles between them. Well Done
