  1. This is a setting you control. Go to the top right of the page and click on Options. Select "Standard" and you will have the old look back. Thanks for the feedback. But I didn't change any settings at any time. Now the forums are showing how they used too. Don't understand what is going on with the forums. They are moving quickly though.
  2. I personally don't like the new look to the forums. Yes they do load extremely fast, but what I don't like is the drop down style list. The only post that shows is the OP's and then you have to click on ALL the other posts to see what everyone else has said. I find this is a lot slower when you have to click on every post. Just my .02 worth. Kayak-Cowboy
  3. I have found them at Flea Markets. When ever the Flea Market comes to Louisville, KY at the fair grounds I usually go there to look around and have always run across the small baggies.
  4. There is several variables you need to take into consideration about ground zero. What type of satellite reception are you getting compared to the reception the cache hider was receiving. This could easily throw you into a big search area. I normally go to GZ and then start looking for any obvious spots a cache could be hiding. Then I will expand my search, usually to about 50 ft or so depending on satellite reception. I have come across many caches with an exceptional accuracy within a few feet or less. It really depends on how well the cache owner takes the reading. I normally take several, then walk away about 100 ft or so, then come back to the cache hide. I will use the most accurate reading on my cache listing.
  5. I just ran 2 PQ's getting ready for the weekend. The first ran with-in a minute. The second one took about 4 minutes to run.
  6. If your brother is a "Premium Member" he can go to the "Build Pocket Query" page and run an "All caches found" PQ. This can be done once every 7 days.
  7. Sorry rtyrie, but I'm just not seeing this. All of your June finds are in sequence, as well as every other find listed. If you look at the first page for "All Cache Finds" in my public profile, the first few caches are in the correct order, but then they become unordered. Here is an example from the first page: GC133RE - July 19 GC16TE9 - July 11 GC1EGCH - July 4 GC1K1G9 - June 28 GC1MRRG - June 28 GC1P55D - July 19 ** GC1QH48 - June 28 ** This cache was found the same day as GC133RE, but is listed in the middle of the June 28 caches I also looked at other pages in my public profile and similar incorrect orders appear as well. Some caches are ordered correctly while others are not. Edit: Added a screenshot My Public Profile My list is all jumbled up also. When you go to my profile and then look at all caches found, the caches are all jumbled by date. The first page and a half are fine because I just logged these. After that they are jumbled. When you look at someone Else's finds they look to be in order. Strange!
  8. Looks like you are already on top of the bug I was going to report. When looking at finds of other cachers you get this error: Procedure or function spgsp_GetCacheList_UserFound_ByArray has too many arguments specified. Looking at my own finds works just fine though. Microsoft XP using Firefox 3.5.1
  9. Using 2 PQ's along with filtering of caches I won't do. I can cover almost all of Southern Indiana, From about Evansville all the way to the Ohio border, and about 40 miles south of Indianapolis. That is approximately an area 60 miles by 75 miles.
  10. Sure it is possible to get lost even with your car being "marked" on the GPSr. A scenario that I see is going into the woods and losing GPS reception. Another scenario is not having extra batteries with you and your GPS goes dead.
  11. Some of the functions are not working on the forums. When I hit the "View New Posts" control at the top of the forum screen. I get this error message: "Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information. The error returned was: Sorry, the administrator has taken the search engine offline for the moment. Please try again later." I can only assume that this is a temporary problem due to the last statement in that error message. I use Windows XP............ Firefox and will repeat on IE..........
  12. A LPC is just as you suspect(light post cache). Usually someone places a micro under the skirt of the light post. Although sometimes there is different variations to this type of hide.
  13. This is the link your friend needs to go to allow you to adopt his cache. Just follow the instructions. http://www.geocaching.com/adopt/
  14. Thanks Raine......... I thought I might have been mistaken. I just didn't remember it giving all the caches hidden in Indiana all the way back to 2000 before. It definitely has always been like that. You must have not noticed somehow. This is a nice way to search for the oldest caches in your state...just click the double arrow (rather than "next") below the cache list to go to the end (the oldest still active cache in the state). Your right I must not have noticed before. Although there is still a problem with this list. As has been noticed before in other cache lists this list is all garbled as well. The dates of placement are all mixed up.
  15. Try again....... It is up right now. I just tried and went right in with no problem. Although 10 min ago the site was down.
  16. Thanks Raine......... I thought I might have been mistaken. I just didn't remember it giving all the caches hidden in Indiana all the way back to 2000 before.
  17. Bug???? I live in Indiana. When I hit the newest caches in Indiana, (from my profile page) It gives me almost 11,000 entries dating all the way back to the year 2000. I don't remember this happening before the new release. Windows XP using Firefox latest version. Also will repeat using Internet Explorer newest version.
  18. I do appreciate all the hard work you put into the updates. But I think it would be nice if you gave everyone a "heads up" that the site might be down. Preferably a day or two before the updates. That way people can get a PQ ran ahead of times. Just a suggestion.
  19. Finally!!!!!! It looks like they got the PQ generator back up and running. It only took 4 + hours from the time I set up the PQ until it finally ran. Terrific service.............
  20. It has been over 5 and a half hours since this was first reported. Can we please have some type of acknowledgment that someone is working on the problem? Thanks Kayak-Cowboy
  21. Well it has been over 30 minutes since I posted, and even longer since I built the PQ. It still shows as NEVER ran. Yes the day of the week is checked and it did show results in the preview. I think it is time to give the PQ generator a good swift kick. I guess that won't help the situation out though. It might actually damage the inner workings of the computer. That wouldn't be good.
  22. My new PQ has not generated yet either. May have something to do with the Geocaching site being down just a little while ago. Even though the site is back up now, the site and the forums are moving extremely slow. Correction the site is moving quickly now. But the PQ is still not generating.
  23. In GSAK using the tool bar at the top of screen. Choose the GPS tab, then the "Setup" tab. This will bring up a drop down list for the GPS. Choose Garmin in the GPS brand list, then in the GPS model list find your unit model and choose it. After that hit OK to save the changes. Then you can download the caches to your unit. Choose the GPS tab, then choose the "send waypoints" tab. At the bottom of this screen there will be a tab that says "Send" hit it and it will send to your unit. Of course make sure your unit is ON and hooked up to the computer........
