  1. I have... My uncle was a drug addict, so he went to rehab. While in rehab, he became close friends with Joey Coyle. Who is famous, and has even had movies based around him. He quickly became close friend's with our family, and everyone knew him well. I didn't get to see him with my eyes, but my living being was within a few feet of him (Wasn't technically born yet.) Sadly, he committed suicide before I ever had a chance to talk with him. So, have you ever had a personal relationship with a celebrity, a close friendship? Friend of the family?
  2. This thread depresses me. I love lame micro's. But I want at least one or two of these near me. How about a 500:1 lame micro to good cache ration. I'd be happ.y
  3. T4E is upset he lives in America's Hat. No, but seriously. This thread belongs here, same law applies in PA, I know this for a fact. PA is not in the same region as Florida.
  4. Okay. Here's a weird story i've been meaning to tell for a while. But too lazy to type up. Anyway... Here goes. So I go to this event, this event has been going on for years, I have my friend's join me, of which I had introduced to geocaching. It's hosted by my local reviewer, and is pretty much amazing. About half-way through, while I'm eating this delicious burger (BBQ!), I notice this one guy come up with an entire little-tyke WAGON full of food. I couldn't help but point this out. At this point, my friend says, "OMG, that's my cousin." I didn't believe him, but they go up and converse like they are family. At this point I am in shock. Here's the crazy thing. Later on in the event, our reviewer says, "how many of you have been here 5 years, raise you hand", his cousin raises his hand. I could not believe this. The reviewer says, "Keep it up for 6", "7", "All 8 years". He kept it up. Holy cow! Turns out this local geocacher was my best-friends cousin the whole time. They didn't know it, and neither did I. He apparently never told his family... Here's the mind bending part. My best-friends, who introduced me to letterboxing, which introduced me to geocaching which I in turn introduced them to geocaching, had a cousin who geocaches for 8 years. Any other stories like this?
  5. I love these things. Always so fun, my voice gets put out there, and I get the warm fuzzy feeling of helping someone out while doing it. Done!
  6. I love meeting new people, seeing new area's, and hanging out with friends.
  7. I don't want to be the devil's advocate, but I play geocaching to find containers, if I wanted to see something interesting id look for waymarks that interest me. Go to Walmart, they have shelves full of them. Okay, funny comment. But, seriously. Why bother geocaching if you just want to see locations. Waymarks are better to do that.
  8. Make one in Forza MotorSports 3, and I'll be paying top dollar on the auctionhouse for that.

  10. Oh, no! Not knoebles! It's my favorite amusement park! I hope they can fix it before next summer.
  11. Oh well sorry I wasn't very original, Coldgear. I will try try and do better next time. Well I have never seen a thread like this so THANKS for creating it. I sure hope after I have been on these forums as long as some here have that I will not become as cranky as them. I didn't even mean what I said. I only saw this thread one other time, and someone posted what I posted this time. I just wanted to sound like i've been around a while, so I "stole" someone's quote from someone who had... ;-)
  12. I prefer decons to lock and locks. If you have to go all out, use an ammo box.
  13. Me and two friends bike to every cache within 6 or so miles from our houses. Only method without a car.
  14. Nano's are my favorite size, I see no issue with them unlike the rest of you. Bloody nano's might be a problem because of hepatitis. I probably need to watch the video...
  15. Keep in mind I did not ask for a lock. Discussion can continue. I just am not open up for suggestions. Feel free to discuss moral issues and whatnot.
  16. Maybe you should not cache for the numbers? If you are worn out of getting high amounts of caches at once, would it not make more sense to start up with a nice hike in a forest? Or somewhere nice? Instead you started up with 110 caches. This seems to be more of an addiction for you then a game.
  17. No baloo, I am not like you. I do not force others into my own morals. Nor do I twist quotes around in order to try to "prove" to others that my morals are a "fact". In fact, I want people to know I am hosting it. So do both of my friend's. It's going to be named something along the name of, "The geocaching kid trio makes an event cache". It will list me, and my two friend's usernames. People will know that I am hosting it, and I don't care. I like the idea of having both an attended and a find. But I don't feel morally right. Hard call, if my friends were eager to take it I would, but they are just as hesitant.
  18. Me and two friends are hosting an event soon. However, we have a dilemma, none of us want to have the page listed on our profile's. I don't want it on mine because I don't want to have to log my own cache. I think they feel the same way. Do you feel uncomfortable logging your event? If you had the choice which would you pick, have it on your profile or a friend's... Thanks!
  19. Linky? HERE That wasn't so hard to find. NO!!!! I refuse to click that link. I have seen those Delaware cache pages before, and to be perfectly honest, they disgust me. I'm speaking of the language blowing off maintenance reponsibilities, and encouraging throw-downs. That sort of irresponsibilty on the paart of the CO should be grounds for Archiving the whole PT. (IMO) After next weekend PLZ?
  20. Okay, my two cents. I think that commercial use of geocaching is great. Most of my best geocaching memories were commercial. A 120 mile (2 hour) trip up to pottsville, 100 miles through back country roads with beautiful views to find 12 caches (4.5 hours) taking a trolley to the tricentennial event (For the entire county to go to) to pick up my free geocoin* (1.5 hours) and a 120 mile drive back (2 hours). Or how about the Warminster Bicentennial event, my first event, I won a raffle, found 12 caches, got free food, and had great fun. Then there is the Schuylkill River Trail of 120 caches, hidden by the trail owners (Bike/Hike only). Then the Delaware Commission and there 138 power trail, the 300 cache power trail they are working on, and the 800 cache powertrail in the preliminary stages). Then the amazing caches hidden by the Baltimore Tourist Association I found. The best series of caches I have every did (Everyone has over 40+ favorites) of center city Philadelphia caches hidden by the city to advertise something a couple years ago. Then there was the Dinosaur trains I did in Center City Philadelphia, and Central Park NYC. Both were absolutely astonishing caches. All hidden to advertise the new PBS show. These are just some of my personal examples. I can't see how anyone could say it is a bad thing! *Free if you don't count all the gas money...
  21. If the power-trail is only 29 caches long, you will probably not run into any issues. It really depends. I'm assuming the power-trail is by car right? If so, you could have it finished in a half-hour or an hour if you go really slow. I doubt anyone could get bored of doing *ANYTHING* within that short period of time.
