  1. Mine includes in no particular order: reading (mostly fantasy and Sci-fi, especially Orson Scott Card), cooking and eating new and different cuisines, hiking/camping, video games, building and optimizing PCs, Origami, Jujitsu, digital photography, drawing and enjoying life in general. -forgot to add travel, my wife and I went to Italy last year for vacation and we loved it. We're going to try and hit a new country every other year (assuming we can afford it). Hey Team GPSaxophone, did you set up any public displays this last year in Colorado Springs? It's possible I've might been driven by this past Christmas -Rich
  2. I found a no label "hydration pack" cleaning kit at my local Walmart in the camping area for $10. It include the tube cleaning wire brush, bladder cleaning brush and the plastic "thingie" to keep the bladder open in order to dry it. -Rich
  3. Also Camel-brand cigarettes use genuine cotton filters. You can feel the difference when you rub the filter tip of a Camel vs. any other brand.
  4. I don't think it'd be "cheating". My wife and I have taken our dog out for the 2 caches we done so far- she's not much help but she does have a lot of fun.
  5. Don't forget, this is the new millenium, being geek, nerd, dork is now cool- sort of. Heck, geeks have a huge presence now in popular culture, otherwise, how would you explain the popularity of the recent comic movie hits such as the X-Men, Spiderman?
  6. Thanks! I'm looking at some LEKI poles on ebay.
  7. Exactly what is a this "positive angle" that I should look for? Thanks
  8. LOL. I did not catch that until just now... trekking "holes"
  9. I tried looking previous topics on this and didn't find anything- I swear! I looked for trekking holes, hiking sticks etc in all forums. I appreciate the responses so far.
  10. Can someone recommend a trekking pole? I use hiking sticks on occasion- the normal wood ones but I've seen some of the new trekking poles that can collapse down to 24 inches which makes it really convenient to stick in your pack if you need to scramble down some rocks. Anyone here use them and can recommend a good one? Thanks, ngr00
  11. I'll throw my vote in for the Canon A70. Best all-around camera for around $200 or less depending on what kind of deals you find. While we're on the subject, what do you guys use for a camera bag or what do you use to protect your camera when you're out caching? Thanks, ngr00
  12. Glad I was able to help others out. I can't wait to get out there and find my first cache!
  13. Hi everyone, Finally, Amazon dropped the price again on the Legend Etrex to $136.65 . I'm new to geocaching and have been checking various gps models lately. My 2 final candidates were the the Garmin Etrex Legend and the Magellan Sportrack Map (has $30 rebate coupon from Magellan)- both were in my price range. I was edging toward getting the Etrex after the great reviews here and that almost everyone agrees it's an excellent first gps handheld purchase but the price was the factor- I'm sure I would've been happy getting the Magellan but it's nice to get the Legend for the same price now. I'm really excited to get my first gps unit and try caching with my wife Yay! -ngr00
