GA Geocoins update>>> Today we received the sample coins from our coin run. I will be taking them to an event tomorrow so (sorry) the local cacher can see ( fondle) both coins. It is our understanding that we should have the coins Dec 1/2 and we will begin shipping straightaway. Please bear in mind that the 5 of us do not do this for a living and we will be having a packaging party to get them together. It might take a run or two to get them all to the post office. I think you need to check the dates on #3. Also do you think a TB can get all those provinces in only 8 months? "3. Race Ends when a travel bug visits every 10 out of 13 province/territory or on 1 Nov 05 the travel bug with provinces/territories wins."

For each of our Travel Bug Races we held an event to start the race, or mailed the TB's to the event oranizer. Then the bugs were taken from the event to be placed. We felt that this would be better than dropping 32 TB's into one cache and risk that cache being muggled and the race be over before it starts. Almost all racing TB's are mailed to a origin point so all have the same chance from the same place. IMHO we never allowed a used TB to be on the race as the milage becomes confusing. If a cacher has a favourite hitchhiker, as in Hard Oiler, just attach it to a new bug. We love TB races and you can look forward to 4 entries from down here.

I just received this from NCGO Admin. "The back will be an image of a mountain on one side, sea on the other with the Hatteras lighthouse in the center. This represents our slogan, Mountains to Sea. Same color rim. We don't have good artwork which is why it isn't posted on the Store page yet. As soon as we get a photo of an actual coin it will be there. We have ordered 1500 coins." I have 3 paypaled.

There is a cost for the tracking number per coin. A cost for the Icon. We have done 3 coins and GC has never said what our coin should be sold for. Ours have been state coins. A personal coin cannot be sold at a great profit. So GC knows the costs for a coin, die fee, art work, S&H PAypal fees they expect the coin to fall in a close range to what they think is a fair price with very little profit if any. On Topic - I hear that there is an Ontario Geocoin coming out soon. A regular trackable coin and a LE.
