  1. I don't want to mess with anyone else's stats, so if there's no other option then I guess I'll go with Doug's suggestion. I never considered anyone else would be intereested in the miles; I was only thinking for my own ability to track which TB's travelled farthest. Though I may not remember years from now (assuming it lasts that long) to search back to the page that has the entry about mileage reset, I'll make it red letters to perhaps make the entry easier to find. Thanks for the input.
  2. I've a TB that's been MIA since a cache got muggled 2+ years ago and I decided to reuse the number for a new TB. Is there a way to reset the odometer so the new TB won't have the old one's mileage added to it before it is even released?
  3. Thank you, Correy and Skippermark; I'll pass that info along and let the cache owner decide how he wants to proceed.
  4. An inexperienced cache owner whose cache was moved by another geocacher in order to avoid a wasp nest asked me if there's a limit to the distance an existing cache can be relocated. I don't know, so I'm posting the question here. The cache in question was moved approx .8 mile to a new location (it's on an uninhabited island) and the person who moved it supplied the new coordinates and a description to the cache owner. He said that when he attempted to make an "update coordiniates" entry, it would not accept the values he entered and thus wondered if the reasonn was because of the distance it had moved. Anybody know the answer?
  5. Positively amazing. Such a simple fix! Thanks for the help.
  6. I ran a query Friday and Saturday and the resultant .GPX file would not load into EasyGPS on the computer or cmconvert for my Palm. Trying to load into EasyGPS, I received the following error message: "Open command could not be completed. The file...could not be opened. This is not a GPX file. Could not find <gpx> at the beginning of the file." Cmconvert seemed to run okay, but in the end, nothing came across. The final message box stated "0 records..." All of this has worked fine for me on many occasions over the past 2 years. I'm running a different query tonight, one I've successfully downloaded previously, to see if it's all the files I'm currently receiving or just that particular new one.
  7. Can a TB that's already been released into the wild and has a history be transferred to a different user so it shows them as the owner and is in their inventory on their profile page? Specifically, I've opened a new account and would like all my profile info to be transferred, but I'll take baby steps if I must.
  8. I've been wondering about this for some time now. 2+ years ago I let my wife pick out the name because it didn't seem important at the time. Since then I've gotten hooked on this sport and nobody knows how to pronounce my username so I wanted to change it to something easier (and in line with a name used on another site; the two activities knit together well). Doesn't seem like such a big request to me.... How difficult could it be to carry-over the premium member status and the stats??
  9. Spam filter seems okay because severs days ago I received the results of a query for all my cache finds. However, I did not receive my pocket query output that supposedly ran yesterday and the day before.

  11. One query ran yesterday and another today, but neither has shown up in my e-mail. Another I ran last week came through with data from a query deleted a few months ago. All retrieve desired results when run as "preview" and the correct e-mail is on file, as I'm receiving notifications regularly. What's up?
  12. Thanks for the info. Headed out the door now, but I'll investigate this feedback in the next couple days.
  13. Not sure about the situation of the person who originated this thread, but I have the same question and hope for an answer different than the "archive" one. I submitted a cache that was not listed and now shows in "My Account" under "My caches waiting for review" I would prefer to not see it there for the rest of my life and the cache name is not reuseable, nor can I move it to be within compliance. I thought perhaps I could change the name and reuse the basic format as a template for another cache since it's never been published, but can't determine how to do that either. HELP!
  14. Thanks for the quick response. I followed the instructions and all went as expected.
  15. There's a TB shown to reside in my cache, but it's gone missing. How do I remove it from my listing so geocachers aren't disappointed when they arrive and find it's not there? According to the logbook it was taken several weeks ago by an unregistered trio of geocachers who wrote they were moving it some 2000 miles away. Neither the visit or the TB movement were ever logged online and I've no way to track them down for status. Sent a note to the TB owner, but don't know what else to do. HELP!
